The cars drive different because they are mostly different. Wheelbase is different, that is already a difference enough, but then there's also different body styles, weight distro and anti rollbars are also not the same. IMO very different cars physics-wise despite having the same drivetrain.

It's so weird to hear and see the car being driven as low as 3K rpm on track, but with the torque these make it's understandeable. Still strange though as the sound on these new cars doesn't come through that well on video, so we can't feel the "push" at 3K rpm behind our monitors

i had to watch both laps at the same time from both m2 and m3 cs touring and they have similar performance the m2 lap was more congested and finished earlier and i give the touring 1 second advantage. what a machine.

Misha the reason Xdrive in that format doesn’t under steer much is because it stays rear wheel drive until the front wheels slip, then sends power to the front! Unlike fwd biased vag platforms like 4drive where the rear is pre loaded too, front isn’t pre loaded on these so you get a lot less of that struggle on turn in and exit.

@gt-r9035 The seatbelt automatically locks as soon as it’s pulled quickly. Locking it beforehand is a matter of comfort/preference, not safety.

@@TranceFur "modern" cars are equipt with belt-tensioners on top, but they have a delay, as the g-force-meters have to detect the impact first. Nontheless safety belts have to be fastened tight to protect optimal. Otherwise the body can slip too far on the seat, increasing chances of injuries or causing severe injuries other than pulled tight...

this isnt an official CS, its a separate company developed it called evolve, but they used Bmw stock CS and CSL parts, hopefully we get a official CS from BMW one day but this makes do for now for sure

You can tell the suspension worked better on this than the M2, was less twitchy under braking. I try to keep an eye on all the screens and the tyre temps on this were also slightly lower, despite it being a clearer/faster. Oil temps were lower too.

I am not watching this video because Misha caught my soul and I am owning an M3 touring for 2 month now - which I am literally driving every second 😊. More M3, less KZbin. What does the guy from Evolve exactly means with the car is fitted with CS hubs and brakes? Does a CS have different wheelhubs and brakes? Is see normal M3 touring brakes...but I do see CS wheels. Do the CS wheels only fit with different hubs?

The CS hubs correct the camber [adds negative camber to improve turn in and steering feel]. So, yes, they are different hubs. Not sure about the brakes, but I assume that they use different brakes because of the different hubs. The CS comes standard with steel brakes, with optional carbon ceramic [I don't think this car has the carbon ceramics].

The Evolves' M3 Touring and M2 seem like crazy track weapons. I only got super dissapointed to hear from Misha that the M3 touring "family car" is driving better than the M2. To me it shows much the G87 is falling short on its identity as being nimble and fast on the corners. It is still a cool car (although I prefer the previous gen), but it seems that the combination of similar weight and shorter wheelbase does not do any good.

My experience the M3 handles better than an M4...I can assume increased wheel base makes the difference. M2 shorter wheelbase than M3 Wagon.
