I have 0 experience with AK variant rifles so I did about a year of research before picking one up. After all that research, I settled on what I think my best possible choice was for the price point. The Zastava M70 ZPAP with Chrome-lined barrel, bulged front trunnion and 1.5mm stamped receiver. I haven't even gotten to shoot it yet but it is gorgeous and I am excited!

@@thriftshopper23 its a town. all the war guns are from Bosnia. there was no war in other states of yugoslavia just minor skirmishes. but a major genocidal war in Bosnia. Because of large muslim Bosniac population. catholics and orthodox joined to slaughter muslims. why all the christian hate for muslims? isnt christianity about love and forgiveness? 😂😂 you are just jealous because deep down you know islam is truth and reterded christianity is a lie, but you are to cowardly to become muslims because you are afraid of your friends, neighbours, relatives, social pressure. you should be afraid of god, not humans. but you wanna ascribe a son and a woman to god. both jesus and mary will stand before god and answer for what you clowns invented after they were gone, and so will you.

I did buy a few Mitchell Arms variants, mine being the post ban M77/90 7.62x51 in both standard 20” barrel and RPK heavy finned barrel they were trying to compete with in the NATO countries. Always regretted never purchasing Mitchell Arms import M70 preban. I was definitely buying guns in those days. My purchases were more for the quality of workmanship for the Belgium FN FAL and H&K 91. It took me a while to accept the reliability of the AK especially when ammo was first imported for $1 per round. China made me think twice when I bought a case of 5 milled receiver MAK90’s for $225 ea and ammo was $70-75 a case of 1000. Anyway I ramble a lot. I really enjoy and watch and appreciate your videos! If I could ever get my hands on an afforable .308 AK, I would definitely make a pseudo-replica m76. Or even perhaps if I got a 5.56mm Zastava, I would probably make a hypothetical scaled down dmr. Basically I just like the long handguard, the stock and the grip. 8mm would be icing on the cake.

I think when you speak about these guns made by Zastava you should refer as Serbian guns rather than Yugoslavian, yes some of them are made in during Yugoslavia but no matter when they are made they are made in same Zastava factory in Kragujevac, Serbia and all the components for rifles are made by Zastava in the same factory and i know that because I'm from that city. People today say more Russian AK's rather than Soviet Union ones that's why i think the term Serbian Riffles are more correct than Yugo, at least it matters to us from Serbia. Other than that your videos about AK's are unpair compared to other channels, the level of information you post is unmatched by others.

OMG. That Legion USA. AKM with the dark wood palm swell hand guards and plum pistol grip with that light brown, glass fiber, magazine. Really does it for me. It's beautiful. Not sure what material these magazines are made from. But I have several for 7.62 and my 5.45,s and they work and load smooth as butter. With the 15 rnd strippers and loader they just Zip in. Not so much with other mags. But they are pricey.

Wanted the 56 but after inspection the pin that held the trigger in place you could move back and for with no problem so I went with the zastava with the black synthetic furniture all the rivets looked good so snagged it up.hope it turns out to be a good rifle.

I have a century arms ABM 70 underfolder. Kit build with a US milled receiver. Do they have issues with the receiver or anything else? Can't find much info on them . Is it worth keeping it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. As usual another outstanding video. Keep up the great work. You have great collection.

@@mac11daddy6 i won't buy any Century ras 47 or vska, but the imports are ok and some franken guns. I have a yugo Franken gun with a US receiver and barrel. The other parts are yugo. I was wondering if the American made receiver was a piece of junk? Like the c39s
@mac11daddy6
@mac11daddy6 4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much any American made receiver is a piece of shit for many reasons. One is because they tend to use cast trunnions instead of forged trunnions because it’s cheaper. The majority of milsurps and imports have forged trunnions. Another reason they suck is because of the finish and the shitty rivet work. If the rivets aren’t done correctly the gun is gonna fall apart. You can just tell the quality by the feel when comparing to an import.

Not sure anyone has really fired an M70AB Sporter enough or put one through a torture test to know. Plus even if 1 examples does/doesn't make it, that's really not conclusive regarding yours. Just enjoy it....and get a Field gauge to use before/after every range trip. Do that, and you're plenty safe.

Your 100% fine. And if for any reason you don't feel comfortable, I'm ready to buy it, for a reasonable and fair price. These guys are talking about rivets on a milled receiver. Do not listen to them. Except Misha, he's obviously way overqualified to give advice. But I do have yugos and other AKs. I'd kill for a milled receiver in 7.62.

All technology and craftmenship was all Serbian, with a little help from Soviets with AK -47 ofc.

My father and I bought a Yugo sks back when I was 14-15 from a gun show. You could tap the side of it and it would go off. I almost shot my cousins head off with it picking it up off the tailgate as he was walking back from setting up targets in the woods. The bullet was within 8-12 inches of his head. It was covered in grease and looked like it had been threw hell and back. Back then I knew very little about firearms had I kept it I could have easily changed out the internal parts.

Just saw this message. Fair warning. My first AK was the M70AB1 under/down folder, and the guy who helped me buy it as a parts kit messed up. He assumed it took a 1.5mm receiver. I was still new to the AK world and trusted this guy who was very knowledgeable and had a collection of rare AKs. Well...I sent off my parts kit to a builder. After he received it, I went to his place to give him brake cleaner and some other things. Then he told me it had a 1mm receiver, so it couldn't take a bulged trunnion. The guy who helped me get my first AK recommended me his friend who was that builder. He got on the phone with him and started accusing him of misleading me just to keep a bulged trunnion, which was very difficult to find anywhere. He believed that he initially ordered a trunnion but because it was rare, he supposedly kept it and withheld information from us. I ended up taking my parts kit with a populated barrel, which was the only thing he was able to complete. So I waited almost a year or more to finally find another builder. A bad experience for me.

They were made in Yugoslavia at the time, but the factory is in Serbia and the Zastava factory (1853)is older than Yugoslavia (1918-2006). The workers and engineers in Zastava are Serbs. It's if for example in the British Commonwealth let's say 150 years ago someone in Australia or South Africa made something and you say "British Commonwealth" Did It Differently! So yeah, pair that with the knowledge that they didn't just slap a scope on and called it a day. No the whole package was respected, thick milled receiver, scope matched to the system, cold hammer-forged 20+ inch barrels and a good parent bullet that's even been loaded to the rifle's spec. Hey Misha! been loving your videos. I'm new to the AK scene and I've been doing a bit of homework as I wanted to make sure that I make a safe choice for my first purchase. As of now, I've come down to either Zastava USA's M70, or the WBP FOX AK. However, thanks to your videos, you have introduced me Legion USA's Custom built AKs in your older videos which were a manufacturer who had flew under the radar for me. I am struggling to find information on the LGAKMs even outside of youtube, So I hope I can get your opinion on this. Is it worth coughing up the extra 600 dollars approximately as compared to the ZPAP or the WBP Fox?

@@kurtlauer2005 Yeah I heard a lot of good things about the WBP. I'll admit the only thing that makes me hesitant about it is the buttstock beryl mount but I'm sure I can get a gunsmith to accurately machine it off if I really wanted to replace the stock which I don't plan to. In truth, I think I too would prefer to get the WBP over the ZPAP but it really comes down to availability.

@@kurtlauer2005 Haha yup I've signed up for the notifications on restocks from Atlantic. I completely agree with you Zpap has overhauled their guns, I hear nothing but good things as well as the 899 dollar price tag is hard to say no to especially in times like these were the prices are skyrocketing. For me personally, I'm willing to cough up and extra 200 dollars to get the Russian style furniture of the WBP over the Serb ZPAP but I won't be upset if the Zpap was my only choice. I heard rumors that the WBP is coming within the next week or two and ZPAPs are restocked on a monthly basis at Atlantic, but those are only rumors i cant say for sure, but until then, I'm gonna keep doing my homework on AKs before I finally join the club! :) I appreciate your info on the WBP, it's only helping me become more confident on my hopefully near future purchase!
