Worth mentioning that her backflip (ub,b or, if I remember correctly, ub,1+2) can also cancel into step and has the same electric mechanics. Though I don't know if it's low evasive like her u,1+2.

1+4 is insanely good as a safer option to evade jabs (Even if you're -9) and go for an EWGF launch. If you can master it, it's a good alternative to instant duck FC DF4 if you don't want to run the risk of the FC DF4 being blocked and punished. U1+2, however, is something i've found to be extremely unpractical.
@epicebones73296 ай бұрын
I agree, I go for 1+4 after DF1,1 if my opponent seems to be jab heavy or passive to extend my pressure.

Ive been using her 1+4 into electric for a while now and man i have been so confused as to the actual timing of the df 2. I thought it was at the same time which caused it to not come out sometimes. Glad i now know the the 2 is after the df. I usually do when i anticipate a high.
@marquisbean17526 ай бұрын
Bro the standard EWGF is not consistent... For some reason I've learned that holding down while pressing 2 seems to get me there more often then timing df2. Idk why but it seems to like the long press of the down after the input.... see if this helps.

I was actually experimenting with these and her ub1+2 a few days ago. I found that, for me, it's more accessible for WGS, but knowing I can stance transition is good too for mental stacking. 1+4 into hell sweep or Electric of choice is a good whiff punish for highs from what I learned. I hadn't done much with u1+2 but now knowing it evades lows is actually a huge thing to learn for me. Will get into trying to use that more. I found ub1+2 into EWGK or even WGK acts as a nasty Kenpo-like as you backflip to evade and reset position with the WGK, especially if you delay the input a little. Honestly it's been fun trying this stuff out. And making my opponents unsure what I am doing. :P Really glad you made this video

The DF2 1 frame electric and electric kick is also a thing out of Unsoku stances (B3, UF3, DF3). I don't think you mentioned it in said video. But I never figured out why I got electrics out of Unsoku stance and somehow this video gave me the answer.

Fukuteki puts you in the while rising position so punches and kicks normally accessible to Reina by pressing 2 then releasing immediately become available. It feels like Fukuteki if I'm saying it right, the one she does when she puts her left hand on the ground causes this. So basically all her while rising moves become counter hit moves.

wasn't mentioned. but 1+4 can be canceled into a side step by immediately pressing df. if you wait to long you'll get cd. hopefully someone finds a practical use for all this. But its hard to argue using this over a standard crouch.

I always found 1+4 was a great alternative to ducking if you know when to duck a string. You suddenly get access to EWGF punishes instead of your usual FC or WS punishes which is huge. Knowing *when* to fukuteki though is hard because crouch guard still is safer when you're unsure, and 1+4 should only be used if to evade highs.
@MiTEpona6 ай бұрын
DB is nice cause you can still play the game after pressing it by staying low, converting to a standing block, or attacking with a DF move or WS move. 14 makes you have to play aggressively because its not a block and it locks the possible button presses after. I've tried to think of ways to use this, but it seems to aggressive for the game. My guess is it is some insanely high level play based off of a read.

It sure is weird, I have a bunch of practice videos of frame fuckery going on with the timing, might want to experiment some more to find out exactly why.
@TheGamersDen6 ай бұрын
Gonna assume that you can hold down forward whenever you want to during the stance to buffer wind god step, and it's just the 2 input that needs to be perfect when the wind god step actually starts.

one gimmick you can use 1+4 for is crushing high retaliation when you're at -8 or -9 ive found moderate success using it after a blocked b2 or a blocked b4 still just a gimmick but hey gimmicks have their place even in high level tekken every so often
@Shirikatsu6 ай бұрын
I wouldn't even call it a gimmick tbh. I think it's more a knowledge check. We don't really have many knowledge checks and I would consider this a good one to test your opponent. Another one I use it EWGK which leaves you in crouch and -9 on block, FC df4 always beats any high retaliation into launch. Opponents have to know to use fast mid moves to interrupt or they get launched. Honestly though, knowledge checks are kinda similar to gimmicks IMO but at least we have SOMETHING xD

I think the description on 1+4 is just backwards. It's a duck so WS moves would come out of it. Not the other way around. Yesterday I got tired of Ling's evasive BS so I started randomly using it. I didn't win but it really slowed them down. 1+4 into 1+3 was kind good to evade then grab punish.

If you can get it consistently, 1+4 into electric become your safest/fastest option to launch someone after reading a obvious High in a string since FC df4 is -14 and can be slow I agree with for up 1+2 tho they should at least make it faster I guess you can use it as a mindgame in heat with 3+4 become a nuke and having the exact same animation forcing them to « respect » the stance

I think those stance are completely useless... fukuteki is basically a duck where Reina cannot block, and the u1+2 is a jump in which she has access to no attack. If at least they had some sidestep evasion to make up for it , but no, its taunt/flex material at the very best.
@Shirikatsu6 ай бұрын
I can mostly agree with your assessment of u1+2 because of how many frames it leaves you vulnerable (uf4 seems like a better low crush that also launches). However 1+4 actually gives you access to electric launch punishes when evading high strings at i14. Previously our best launch punish from crouch was df4 at i20, so launch punish was never accessible for fast highs because it was too slow. So we had to resort to WS3 -> SEN3 at i13-i14 or WS4 at i11 neither of which launch. I do agree that 1+4 is VERY situational, but when used at the right time gives us another set of tools to punish with :)
