Hey thanks this helped a lot. rclone is a little weird and sometimes just stops updating so I ran a command on launch to sync. There’s one thing though, I can’t get an animated image to play. Is there any workaround that I can’t figure out? It looks really good, but I can’t get it to play a gif or even a video lol.

Hello, I really like the project, Thank you! I just received the parts that you nominated in your video and noticed your did not spec the power supply. Can I power the screen from the same 2.5A PS that I use for the RasPi? Is there a USB splitter necessary?

Great job and thank you. Some portrait pictures are flipping to show landscape, when I open the picture manually it's portrait. Did it happen to you?

Hmmm. No it seems ok to me when I use mine. I am adding pictures to it all the time. However, most of my pictures I take are landscape and when I take pictures with my phone i turn the phone no its side so the phone natively takes landscape pictures.

Hi i have an issue with this project, from time to time fbi stops showing pictures, instead i get the following on the screen. map: vt02 => fb0 Invalid SOS parameters for sequential JPEG (repeated a few times) loading /home/pi/Pictures/removed [ppm parser] FAILED Invalid SOS parameters for sequential JPEG (repeated a few times) Oops: Terminated And this whole thing is repeated again and again i think this may happen when fbi gets killed in order to sync but im not sure at all. if you connect using ssh and you run the fbi_start.sh script again, fbi starts working again. any ideas whats going on or how to write a script to restart fbi if its terminated for too long without messing with the sync proccess?

yes instead of using the sink you can use just a download commands should be in the link in the description and it can just pull the files down however it doesn't delete them when the files are deleted on the remote place it will just pull them down. Hope that helps

Having a bunch of pictures in a folder that might be a backup folder, have the pi reading and showing it in the frame till next picture . Nothing to sync or download. All online. Is it possible? (Sorry if I was not clear earlier)

If you are asking about having multiple devices sync to the cloud sync. Then yes you could since it is a simple dropbox sync and you are not removing the pictures from dropbox yes you could sync 3 devices.

I did this using google photos but when I entered "rclone sync picturecloud" I received the following error "2020/12/7 21:34:27 ERROR : upload error reading source directory: directory not found" --- can you help me figure this out?

Well I have two. The best one to get started with is the Wanhao duplicator i3. It is a good device and not too expensive or difficult to set up.
