Great unit. I can charge either off my van inverter or 1000w suitcase generator which i only use to test it still work's and cycles the fuel. One hour is all it takes.

Definitely, some power stations are starting to get larger inverters and bigger solar controllers than some conventional traditional van electrical systems. Usually they lack at times in capacity or ability to DC charge at high amp.

Hi, great videos, thanks so much. I have been using e Anker 555 Powerhouse (1kWh/1kW) and find it very good apart from the self discharge rate which is about 4% per week - another KZbinr confirmed this. I assume it's because the usb outputs are always on, as I haven't read that LiFePO4 is known to suffer from this. Not a big problem when on the road but could be when used as a back up. I wondered if you have noticed what the discharge rate is for the C1000 Solix?
@MispronouncedAdventures
@MispronouncedAdventures 7 ай бұрын
I would expect the self discharged to be because of the BMS and the rest of the systems electronics. Although I wouldn’t see from my use case, 4% per week being a problem at all. I’ve not noticed any noticeable self discharge, but I do generally use it daily, so it would be hard to keep an eye on
@waltermh111
@waltermh111 5 ай бұрын
LIFEPo4 will usually dissipate on its own over a year time, which is around 8% a month rounding down. So 2% a week. The extra 2% i agree with him is from the other features that stay on and is reasonable. If nothing else, if youaee out and rarely using it, maybe keep a folding panel around and just have it to daily to counter the drain or whatever but drain itself is natural.

Thank you, I really dislike videos where someone’s clearly just unboxed, said product and say it’s the best thing. my styles of brand-new products for unboxing I’m very much more objectively looking at the build quality, features and how it performs in the short term. But it’s nice to get the opportunity to make a video for a video for a product I in the long-term.

I’m going to be researching mostly all of the equivalent power stations.I’m liking the Grecell 1000w for £496.00 on Amazon.or the Bluetti at £549.00,compared to this Anker at £749.00,although it’s cheaper than the Jackery at over £1000.00 🤔.👍
@MispronouncedAdventures
@MispronouncedAdventures 7 ай бұрын
Looking at the units specs, The C1000 definitely costs more but is also vastly superior. Grecell 1000W vs Anker C1000. Anker uses a better and longer lasting lithium chemistry ( NCM vs LiFePO4 ) , inverter nearly double the output ( 1000W vs 1800w ( 2400w ) and maximum input charging times ( 150w vs 1300w ) and more

I got the Ecoflow 2 which is the equivalent to this, but i found this for the sqme price right now and i feel like you cant go wrong with both. I can't imagine anchor has something completely unique to itself but maybe next year when i need more power, I will look into this again as i will want 2 power stations so i can have them used in different areas (buying land to put a camper or something on). I do travel a lot also. And that pack isnt too big. Maybe even buy the next size down if it is as good.

I’ve been lucky enough to test the power stations, including the EcoFlow Delta two ( which I’ve also kept ) and this Anker C1000. Personally, I prefer the C1000 over the EcoFlow delta two. But for smaller power station I like the EcoFlow River 2
@waltermh111

@MispronouncedAdventures I could have canceled it last night but I think it's too late now. I assume it's good enough. My needs are simple right now living the van life to save money. Got 2 cheap solar panels off Facebook that will provide all the power I need. When I buy the land next year I will need a second source and the anker may be perfect to double my power or their bigger offering probably as I assume their bigger versions are just as good. As I want to go from 500w of panels to 2k for the land. So I need a system that can handle that.

If you have a minivan, rather than a large one like yours, a desiccant dehumidifier can kill two birds by heating and removing moisture and is a completely viable way to heat a small space. You do need 3kwh capacity and a decent solar, but it works well and requires minimal setup. When you aren't traveling, you can use the dehumidifier at home :D. This is my preferred way of heating. That said, this wouldn't work in snowy environments, but 0C and up works. No diesel or gas required! Shame that no one has made a video about it :P

Hi again- I'm concerned about using my (2kW) inverter to charge a C1000 at high power say 600W+ because of the strain on the alternator. Or a C1000 plus a separate ebike battery pack totalling 800W. Are alternators capable of delivering >50A for several driving hours without damage over time? Is there any way to know or check if an alternator is up to it?!
@MispronouncedAdventures
@MispronouncedAdventures 7 ай бұрын
The maximum AC charge wattage can be adjusted in settings, all the way down to about 200w are its lowest and 1000w or 1300w at highest. What safety alternator very much depends on what the spec is. Mine is a 220A so I routine we run 80A aux loads off it. General rule of thumb is a aux load shouldn’t be more than one third of the alternators capacity. In your case, I would recommend checking the specification of your alternator, potentially photographing the sticker on the back of it which should label it.

One thing I just noticed today. I want to charge my C1000 off of the AC Power outlet in my truck bed for when I go camping. The outlet is rated at 400 watts. I have the power station set to charge at 200 watts so I wouldn't pop a fuse on the truck but it will not charge. The C1000 just clicks. It will charge off of the 12 volt from the car charger inside but not the AC power in the truck bed or inside the cab. Am I doing something wrong?

@@samaelmartinus3273 lots of people use them to run a Cpap. There UPS function means if there was a power cut the power station would keep runnning. As for how long. It would be the watts ( electrical consumption ) of your Cpap divided by 1000wh ( capacity of the power bank ) to give you run time in hours.

actualy electric heaters are about 100% efficient. disel heater are about 90% efficient.
@MispronouncedAdventures
@MispronouncedAdventures 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I worded that slightly differently or confusing of the perspective you look at it. Since most electrical items ( ones which are not heaters ), the inefficiency percentage / loss is what is lost to heat being generated.
@nick-leffler
@nick-leffler 7 ай бұрын
Please quit saying resistive heating is "inefficient," resistive heating is 100% efficient which is more efficient than any ICE which max out at around 40%. The issue is battery capacity isn't nearly as much as fuel. Otherwise I love the video.
@MispronouncedAdventures
@MispronouncedAdventures 7 ай бұрын
I feel that splitting hair on the way I structured the sentence. you seem to have understood of the point I was getting across. As I have mentioned the same numbers in previous videos, when talking about the concept of electric cooking when you look at fuel types “efficiency” of ICE for cooking versus electric I says It’s an ineffective “solution” for a heating a campervan off grid as a “concept” due to the ridiculous capacity of battery bank required to heat the vehicle off grid. I’m not say the technical efficiency of the heating element, which is as you right say is 100%.
@adrianmichell2751

Efficiency, is the most misused word !
@CMDR_Shokwave
@CMDR_Shokwave 3 ай бұрын
@adrianmichell2751 maybe misunderstood is more accurate. It all depends on what the user is referencing and also their point of view. For instance, I think I am very efficient at my job because I can get it done very quickly in the time given, but management thinks the job is very inefficient because I am done quickly and then have extra time doing nothing. Just need a little more context from the speaker to clarify what they are quantifying.
