I've been with these guys for every album. People don't seem to understand that music comes from what is impacting the musician at that very moment they write that special riff, line, pattern, or melody. Miss May I has grown up since apologies are for the weak, and that is clearly shown in their song writing. They've seen more of the world, heard so many stories, and now its bleeding into this record. Of course there will always be that brutal sound on this upcoming album, but i'm certain many songs will have this new sound. This is definitely still heavy, just a lot more of a personal feeling. That's what music is about.

This song has a very old school sound to it while keeping it heavy. You don't need breakdowns to be heavy, this song is very dark and has strong emotions behind it. I see a lot of people attacking Levi's voice or claiming it has weakened since earlier albums. I'd just like to clarify a few things I've noticed: 1. His voice has not weakened at all since I first saw Miss May I (about 3 years ago now, I believe), it's really a choice of the bands to lower the volume of the screams in this mix, since it is a much slower and softer song. 2. based on his screaming technique, he has not damaged his voice. If you check back to earlier albums, you can see his screams still sound as powerful as ever, although in this song, there is a bit less technicality (I'm assuming to not overshadow the clean vocals). Wonderful song gents! Thanks for always putting out great music.

Oh great, People are disapproving the song because it's different. Jesus this isn't the first time a band wants to change a song style as Miss May I still knows what it's doing. But to continue on there is Metallica's Load and Reload cycle, Megadeth's Risk, Bring Me The Horizon's Seperimental, Sepultura's Roots and so on so forth. I love the guitar harmonies though. Reminds me of Alice In Chains and Breaking Benjamin. Hell it also somewhat reminded me of System of A Down's Spiders. Vocals are still good and it really gets the job done. Echoes is really awesome I can't wait to hear more.

I see a lot of people saying it's not as good as the old MMI or how they suck now. Well let me tell you something, coming from someone who studies music theory and plenty experience in writing/playing music, Miss May I is now at a professional level and know what they are doing. They have become great, intellectual, professional musicians. Not only that, they are now writing what they feel. They are now using raw vocals, amazing guitar, drums that hold everything together solid, skillful GUITAR SOLOS, in depth lyrics, and much more. They have grown from 17 year old teenagers playing open note breakdowns, auto-tuning, and writing less progressive music, to a great group. Don't get me wrong, all their music is good but you have to understand that they are maturing. And maybe you should too if you are going to label this as "shit" or a "disappointment". And if anyone would like to tell me how their old music is any better than this, please do.

I got really excited when I found out there was a new MMI album coming out in a few days, as they have yet to put out a bad one yet, in my opinion. But what I have heard so far sounds pretty disappointing, the vocals aren't what they used to be and the energy seems so much lower, especially in the drumming. Also, the production quality seems mediocre at best. If this album is a flop, I hope it is a one time thing and they get back on their feet soon.
