Puerto Rico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, USA, India, Philippines, Venezuela, Panama, Thailand, Mexico, South Africa, Vietnam and Italy (if she place) will change their gowns in the finals. I hope Jamaica change hers too because if she doesn’t then she won’t place in the top 5. It’s a nice gown but it doesn’t make her standout enough, she has great stage presence. She needs a “WOW” gown in the finals.

Thank you for loving Thailand dress, Dani. This dress holds special meaning to Anna as she embraces her life story, growing up in garbage damp. She also advocates recycling the material to make the best use out of it. As her dress made of soda pull tabs, it resembles to her that growing up among trashes, she can still shine and be success.

Yes so symbolic relating to her life using cans tabs mixed in with diamonds the concept from garbage to where she is now is shining like a diamond is amazing. The gown uses 2700 cans tabs it’s called “ The hidden precious diamond gown “ just so creative idea of up cycling cans tabs to make a beautiful piece is so creative…!!

hi Dani. I've just learnt that Thailand's gown was made from the upcycled can pull-tabs to pay homage to her parents who worked as garbage collector (dad) & street sweeper (mom). I wasjaw dropped when I read the article. I think this girl could go far this year!

Miss Bahrain's evening gown has the same type of head piece that Miss Italy had in Miss Universe 1994 evening gown competition. The 90s I feel were the height of pageantry and very elegant.

thank you for the video :-), as always I love your fashion choices and insight, you have a great taste unlike many other channels that just talk about the performance not really appreciating the designs, colors, designers and again thank you for always pronouncing the names correctly. I understand that it is live television but I do have an issue when they butcher the names and the countries. For the prelim gown competition I loved Miss USA, Dominican Republic and South Africa (although she kinda blended with the golden background).

Those gowns in the shades of magenta worn by the contestants really stands out for me! They were quite outstanding and eloquent, having expressed the colour of the year. RBonney looks ravishingly mysterious and tantalizing in her gown! Miss Thailand stands out as well in its used of upcycled tabs from aluminium cans honouring her humble parents and upbringing! Bahrain is spectacular in its conservatism that reflects her culture but still presented her gown effectively...😍😄😄😍... This years MU contestants would put the judges in their most difficult decisions to choose down to the winner!

Hi dani! Have you seen the handmovemnts from miss vietnam? She did this hand move as a symbol of a lotus . Its a very tradtional dance in VN🇻🇳 also the female buddha statue in her home town stands with both hands like this. I love the meaning behind it.

Thank you as always for your videos Dani. I was in the audience for prelims with my daughter. We were there to support my birth country of Laos and my home country the USA. Payengxa, Miss Universe Laos, is of Hmong ethnicity. This is the first time in 71 years that a Hmong woman is gracing the Miss Universe stage. To hear the word Hmong uttered on the MU stage 😭❤️ This is such an incredible and proud moment for the Hmong community around the world. There are no limits to achieving your dreams.

I wish I could adequately express how incredible it is to see someone who looks like me and speaks my language on the MU stage. The Hmong living in Laos are still relatively poor, the children are helping their families in the fields instead of going to school and young Hmong girls are marrying in their teens. Payengxa (along with the incredible women representing their countries at MU) is a great role model and inspiration for young women everywhere on the heights that you can reach when you dare to dream, believe in yourself and put in the hard work to realize your dreams.

My favorites: Puerto Rico - My winner Colombia - Refreshing to see the bright pink Venezuela - Even though I think a darker green would have been better; there is nothing Amanda can't pull off. Vietnam - Loved the original butterfly design Aruba - Couture. A big risk but it worked very well for me. Dominican Republic - Very tasteful. Loved the tuxedo dress and the chiffon cape. Nice to see a contestant who knows she doesn't have to show flesh to be sexy. Italy - Loved the couture piece and especially the appropriate shoes to complete her look. There is nothing more distasteful than a nice beaded gown, complimented by beige platform shoes. Germany - A very pleasant surprise. I hope she does well. USA - I am not a fan of the sheer panels Philippines - Also not a fan of the sheer panels. Also if you look closely at her swimsuit performance, her walk was more of a prance as supposed to an elegant and sexy walk.
