R’Bonney put so much effort into creating her own looks for miss USA and miss universe. The symbolism that she uses for everything from her national costumes even the capes for the swimsuit round is very well thought out. Lastly, this woman is a speaker! She speaks from the heart and inspires with the words she uses. The fact that people are discrediting her for winning both the national and international are failing to see the amount of dedication she had put for her fight for the crowns.

R’bonney winning is a big redemption story for her from winning miss USA despite the controversy and having to prepare and train herself without the organization supporting her and to end up being the first Filipino American to not only win miss USA but now miss universe and I knew she was too when she won miss USA but watching preliminaries I was like she’s the winner it’s a wrap and the fact she went with a gown color in black with blue gems made her already winning and yes even her answers in top 5 and 3 sealed the deal for her. Definitely the strongest miss USA in a while and another one of my favorite miss universe winners

@@michellemac2481 I think that might more be the case if R'Bonney had given a sub-par performance. But she clearly shone, in both the preliminary competition and the finals. I just want to thank you for your support of R'bonney throughout her journey to become Miss Universe. I was part of the team that worked with her in preparation for Miss Texas and Miss USA and I can tell you that she absolutely deserved to win every title she has been crowned with. It was clear to all of us the first time we met her that beyond her obvious beauty was a very special woman indeed. No one has worked harder or been more focused than she has. A lot of people are going to hate me, but I have to say it... The allegations of advantages given to R'Bonney are true. Seriously. She has been given incredible beauty, incredible talent, and an incredible mind by God and nurturing individuals in her life. Let's take a moment to process this fact, SHE IS THE CEO OF HER OWN COMPANY OF SELF SUSTAINING DESIGNS. People, she is only 28 years old. She is gorgeous and American, so she could have taken an easier ride, but she is making a difference. Usually, powerhouses prepare their beauty queens to look the right way and say the right thing, but we can see that R'Bonney truly practices what she preaches. It's not an act. We have a woman telling us we can, because she herself is doing it. I wish her a joyful and fulfilling reign. Ms. Walker, I LOVE your videos. They are spot on. Blessings ❤️

I liked Miss Venezuela answer, but after reading it in text, I realize it just sounds pretty. Starts with following the legacy of women that are part of the miss universe organization, Her ending sentence I am a “fashion designer, but I designer of dream”. A lot of the delegates who made the first cut were accessories and a pawn for their false narrative of being fair and to give an ‘exciting twist’ to the show. It’s BS. There are about 300k Hmong people in the USA. Fox and CBS covered her time there. A lot of people came to see her. The line even exited the building all the way to the street. I was in the back and I literally got an overview shot of the mass exit of audience members after the top 16 cut. I have footage too. It was despicable. there were fans who were chanting their country when other contestants were competing on stage for swim and gown and the rejective sighs when a small country was called. It’s was classless tacky and disrespectful. Fans need to admire from afar and let the contestants have their moment. It’s their moment not the fans! They worked so hard and it’s intimidating to put yourself out there on a stage in front of an audience with so much nationalism. Personally, I’m also nervous for El Salvador hosting. I’ve been there for an event and I was given armed security and trust me I’m not a famous person. the MU needs to step up security. it took an more than hour to get through the doors which had no organize queue Or ushers and when it was 5 minutes to the pageant, fans were rushing in without getting their tickets scan and bags checked. Anyone could have easily snuck in without a ticket which is major security issue. The pageant was exciting and it was such a beautiful night celebrating women, but the fandom needs to stop being so toxic. And it makes me think this is one of the reasons why major Sash factor countries did not make it.

Hi Dani, you never disappoint with your recaps. I always look forward to your review. Because of your own experience, can you tell us a little about how much time the delegates have to answer the question? What does the buzzer signify? Is there a penalty if the delegate is still speaking and the buzzer sounds? I'm really interested in knowing more about this. Thank you.
@DaniWalker Жыл бұрын
Good question. It means they hit the 30 second mark. There’s no hard rule about going over the time limit because it’s be difficult to speak and keep track of time. So judges typically don’t count it against a contestant if she wraps up her answer shortly after the bell.
@lukes.3488 Жыл бұрын
@@DaniWalker This is true. There has been a lot of Miss Universe winners who went shortly beyond 30 seconds but still won. I think the bell just signifies that the contestant needs to wrap up her answer. I love how it was really aligned for her. And I think she really envisioned herself winning. The stage ambience complimented her evening gown, same as her swimsuit color choice. I'm really glad actually had goosebumps that she had her hair-up. Kinda reminded me of Olivia Culpo's up-do 10 years ago. Well, 2012 to 2022! The pattern! Both of them are products of immigrant parent/s. Amazing! What's more amazing? I'm here again and enjoyed your recap, Dani! Love it!

I couldn't wait to hear your recap of Miss Universe because like you, I was just loving the whole production! I just LOVE how you embrace EVERY contestant and wish that everyone did the same, whether they were from your country or your favorite pick! When it comes to meeting the contestants, I always felt bad for those girls who don't get the cheers that they deserve after announcing their country! I can go on and on but I appreciate everything you do and all your hard work for keeping us all in the loop! You have huge fan in Bermuda!! 🥰

Yeah, but they messed up on the judges intro..and the new owner seems to be an attention seeker like Nawat. The way the girls introduced themselves smack of Miss Grand International. There was no national costume award or Miss Photogenic even though there were implications there will be. We will see what happens next year in El Salvador. I am still praying that they revert the pageant back to its classier days in the 1970s to 1980s.

PARALLELISM USA was crowned by India (2022) USA was crowned by India (1995) - Both USAs were Miss Texas USA was Miss Universe, first runner-up was Venezuela (1997) USA is Miss Universe, first runner-up is Venezuela (2022) - Both Miss Universe from USA are Asian-Americans 2012, USA won with bun hairstyle 2022, USA won with bun hairstyle - 2012’s first runner-up was a Filipina and 2022 is half Filipina (stretch! Lol) First Filipino-American who won Miss Universe wore a national costume as homage to the first ever moon landing. Moon landing was in 1969. Guess which country won as Miss Universe that year? The Universe conspired to crown R’Bonney.

Sooo excited that you were there in person to witness this incredible year. Venezuela is so stunning and seems like an incredible woman, and I think she would have been an amazing MU. But I am also THRILLED for our Miss USA!!!!!! What an exciting win, and knowing she did so, so much on her own to get there is so inspiring. I hope she is able to savor and enjoy this time to feel the fruit of all of that hard work! Enjoy New Orleans if you are still there and can't wait to see more from your MU week! Eeek! So excited!!!!! 🤗🎉🥳

Thanks Dani for being so appreciative for Philippines. Your country, Miss USA, R'bonney, really won Miss Universe 2022/23. Even in history, Phils and USA have strong relationship with each other until today. Though my country Philippines failed this year, but R'bonney regained it by winning Miss Universe, who is Filipino American. I believed that this is your 9th crown already for MU. Congratulations Dani for your country USA for winning Miss Universe. All Pinoy fans are very proud for R'bonney too, who even raised our Philippine flag as well. God is so good. R'bonney is the great answer to USA's drought for almost 10 years not winning MU, and the stoppage of all the Bashing. Actually, R'bonney is my strongest candidate, and she just won Miss Universe. I got it right. R'bonney does not only add the score card for USA for MU winning but also wins the heart of Pinoy fans. 👍😄❤️

Dani ❤ Another parallel with R’Bonney winning Miss Universe is with that of late Chelsea Smith. Chelsea represented TX in Miss USA and won Miss Universe being crowned by Sushmita Sen of India while she’s also from TX and was crowned by Harnaaz Sandu of India 💕 it was destined for her to win that night ❤❤
@angelique8066 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. They both made ground breaking history when they won Miss Texas USA as well. Chelsi was the first African American to be crowned Miss Texas USA while R’bonney was the first Asian American to be crowned Miss Texas USA. And they also both half white with white mothers too.

Love your insights Dani especially the “walking out”situation during finals .. Moving forward do you think the girls need to pay more attention to the “transformational leader” slogan of MU? I feel like a lot of the girls got caught out during this ownership transition where the girls mostly focused on their physical aspects during training and advocacy was merely lip service or cliche acts based on their bios .. and they failed to discuss in detail the advocacy of being a transformational leader during the closed door interview
@DaniWalker Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what happened behind closed door interviews, but I believe it's always important to substantiate your advocacy.

There is such a difference in the production of every major pageant including Miss Universe these days! All of them used to be on TV instead of stupid streaming apps, they all had tv networks with commercial sponsors and they were a huge deal! I MISS THAT AND I KNOW MILLIONS ACROSS THE USA & THE WORLD MISS THAT! Especially the contestants who I am sure do not get the huge prizes they used to get! I’M OFFICIALLY ASKING A TV NETWORK TO SIGN CONTRACTS WITH MISS USA, MISS TEEN USA, MISS UNIVERSE, MISS AMERICA AND MISS AMERICA OUTSTANDING TEEN!!!! If I had the money and support, I would create a specific channel named “The Pageant Channel” and I would broadcast pageants 24/7 past and present! I would also buy rights from all pageants mentioned to air their PREMIERE on LIVE TV, gain sponsors to fund the programming, give the contestants to every pageant nice prizes and make the pageant experience GREAT FOR EVERYONE WATCHING AGAIN! Now, who is with me? This can be done!!!

The moment she joined the Miss USA and told her community involvement through her own company by helping to better the lives of others and when she answered thise questions and then she won, I said... "wow! This lady is not a joke! She has all the qualities that the new Miss Universe criteria is looking for. Then I said again, "with that compelling and authentic life story by helping other that she has been doing for thirteen years..... as in 13 years! Like woottt??? Ok fine she already have a definite and absolute passport for Top 5 and Top three! At Miss U! And she could even win! And during saturday's Miss U event when she answered the Top 5 Q & A alone, this is it! It sealed the deal!!! She won! I began celebrating already after she answered the top 5 Q & A.

I think some countries fans need to realize that their contestant doesn't DESERVE to place every year just because you think she is the best. Its great that you support your contestant but its a competition with just one winner. If your contestant doesn't advance or even win, then it just wasn't her year. I get so tired of certain fans saying a contestant DESERVED it. Especially when you are not a judge nor seen how interviews went. I was very happy to see countries with low sash factor start placing. Just like last year. Its makes the show more exciting and surprising. If we just have the same countries advancing every year then why should other countries even send a contestant. Lets all just enjoy the show and see who wins. Some fans take this wayyyyyy to seriously.

I can't stand the fact that many Latin fans were bashing R'Bonney accusing her of fraud, "stealing the crown" from their favorites, calling her ugly, calling her a man, etc. Harnaaz got it from Paraguay fans when she beat Nadia in 2021, even Pia got bashed by Colombians in 2015! The fact of the matter is that R'Bonney is the rightful winner no matter how many Venezuelan flag emojis people spam on social media

I may get some heat for this, but I think it needs to be said anyways. Had there been a mixed judging panel of both men & women, I’m almost certain that Venezuela 🇻🇪 would have walked away with the title. In fact, I’m sure that all the results from whom made the first round all the way to the winner would have been different. These past few years, the organization has really been pushing the envelope with the Women Empowerment Initiative, which I can appreciate cause women still don’t have access to huge platforms to support their causes like men do, BUT let’s remember that Miss Universe isn’t just a role-model for women. Miss Universe is a role-model for ALL people. Men & Women, Boys & Girls, Young & Old we are all supporters of this platform that gives women a voice for their personal causes. I just hope that moving forward this new leadership will take into account the male perspective and how important it can also be ✨

Another parallel. In 1995, Miss USA (from Texas) was crowned by Miss Universe from India. Same as this year. I truly feel like it was destiny. I truly feel like it was meant for her.
