I think everyone is missing the inherent insult in calling Gideon the “all-hearing”. He claims to be all-knowing but since he never leaves the Roundtable Hold, he’s not all-seeing since he never sees anything himself. All his knowledge comes from secondhand information from Tarnished. Thus he’s simply the all-hearing. He hears the stories of others and then pretends to know everything.
@ASlopedRoof8 ай бұрын
Well he glimpsed into marikas soul (same japanese kanji for will), and was knighted by her, hence his sir name. In other words, despite his knowledge coming from tarnished and his on purpose age/death and rebirth, and the fingers, she also told him in some way about her endgame of a tarnished destroying the order and merking gods left and right.

My own personal theory I've been spreading around is that the first generation were created by the Carians (Descendants of the Nox peoples who were closely connected with the silver tears - which themselves are seemingly perfect copies of what they mimic). The second gen were labourers produced by the Mages of Raya Lucaria. Finally, the Albanaurics found at the Volcano manor were captured and experimented on, the product of this was the creation of the aggressive Abductor Vigrins (take a close look at the liquid silver snakes that grab you from inside and the silver ball they roll around on).

Great video as usual, Latenna is definitely one of my favorite NPC’s. Side note though, I believe The All-hearing brute that she talks about is actually Ensha of the Royal Remains, who also slaughtered the village under Gideon’s command. A cool theory I read once was that Ensha is actually Gideon’s puppet, since it has been stated through the description of “Dolores the Sleeping Arrow Puppet” that Seluvis and Gideon were once friends. Just a cool theory I thought I’d share.

I like to think that Loretta had lot of sympathy toward Albinaurics, because Carian family was more open minded for different beings. Their ancestors lived in peace with giants. Carians had trolls and dragons allied with them. Trolls served as knights and advisers. If Loretta was an albinaric then maybe she was allowed to be a knight just like trolls? They are not Erdtree zealots who hates what is not from the tree etc. In case of Academy i guess different groups of sorcerers might have different views on Albinaurics. Just like they have different views on forms of magic. Btw, fact that 1 gen Albinaurics can't walk reminds me of Rennala's artificial children. They don't have legs.

Great video and costume! I think both generations of Albinaurics were made by Masters Azur and Lusat, and that this is what got them exiled from Raya Lucaria. There is an almost perfect thematic link between the primordial dew and the primeval current, as both are the life essence of the starlight, possibly both dealing with liquid as well. So their first and second generation status could be seen more as a first and second experiment by mad sorcerers who had somehow glimpsed and the primeval current without immediately turning into a graven mass. I also think that Sanguine Nobles warped a lot of Albinaurics to Moghwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, probably from the Rose Church. They likely lured them with the promises of purpose and love, just like we see with Varre. "Known to strike from pools of blood, these assassins are *missionaries come to share the gospel of accursed blood.*" And so the Albinaurics probably need to be injected with accursed blood as part of their inauguration.

Yes! I am inclined to agree that there is some connection ! 1. They have similar body shape - long arms, small heads. 2. They bleed silver/white. 3. They don't (or can't) use their legs, spinning around on their rounded cloth base. 4. The wrapped cloth balls kind of look like cocoons, so they could be the transformed version of the Albinaurics after their hibernation. Just some of my quick thoughts! They are also mysterious beings, so thanks for your question!

@@miss_chalice Teeny little idea to build off that: Albinaurics are a servant (e.g slave) race, so them having a variety of forms artificially made for different roles would make sense. As the DLC potentially approaches, one thing that hasn’t sat well with me are those Albinaurics in Castle Sol. Miquella is supposedly a champion to the outcasts, such as the Misbegotten and the Albinaurics, and yet there are imprisoned and tortured Albinaurics in Castle Sol. Unless the Castle occupants did this under Miquella’s nose, it hardly seems Miquella has the “outlasts” best interests in mind. Given that Miquella has received a lot of parallels to Griffith from Berserk and that both of them have a seemingly unnatural ability to compel loyalty, it wouldn’t surprise me if Miquella targeted these “outlasts” as sacrifices to be used for certain rituals (i.e. bringing about the Eclipse in Castle Sol). I know there’s probably not much hard evidence to support what I’m saying, but I used to believe that Miquella was a truly benevolent character in Elden Ring until I examined Castle Sol more throughly, and I started to question Miquella’s intentions. Looks like I was under his spell lol. Hopefully we get some answers with the DLC.

To be fair to Miquella, it's his half-brother's castle/followers. Not his own. He could have given the seal to Godwyn. Godwyn then got killed. Then he hears that some of Godwyn's loyal knights were trying to revive him, and since Godwyn's death is leading to all the skeletons and such Miquella; without much information. Nominally supports the effort without knowing the details, because he is too busy dealing with his own stuff.

Excellent video as usual, Miss Chalice. A thought occurred about the origin of the Albinaurics. We know the Night folk have the silver tears, which can mimic just about anyone. What if the Albinauric is a product of someone stealing or acquiring somehow whatever formula makes up the silver tears, and they used it to try to recreate and mass produce an army of super soldiers, say modelled from Loretta. The female variant were for the most part successful, but with the same affliction as Loretta. I don't quite know what the males would have been modelled after, but Pidia seems to be closest non-Albinauric character, so maybe he was involved in some way as a test subject to see if early experimentation would/could work. Once Pidia clones proved viable, they moved on to making Loretta clones.

You can loot some crystal rimed buds off of her but she's also surrounded by a bunch of second gen albinaurics. Again, I don't know how significant it is but I think it's interesting that in all of the game it's the only one you find outside the consecrated snowfields. Watching your video made me think about Miquella's relationship with the albinaurics. We know at castle sol they were experimenting on albinaurics, as well as trying to find a way to revive godwyn. Maybe the two are connected? So the eclipse cult was experimenting on albinaurics to see how to get godwyn a new body? & if that's the case, maybe only Niall and the albinaurics having the two keys to the haligtree implies that albinaurics were being sent to castle sol instead of the haligtree to provide subjects for the experiments. So, another tragedy in the ablinaurics story, where Miquella betrays his promise to protect albinaurics in order to save his brother.

For your section on the albinauric legs, there is another very important character you may have missed: Rennala and her sweetlings. It seems that rebirth via the Great Rune of the Unborn and Larval tears may have initiated an "Albinaurification" on her and her juveniles. Neither of them walk or stand on their feet, only the illusion of Rennala made by Ranni stands and fights properly. I wonder what the implications of this are?

Could be that trying to play god, whether it be through creating artificial life like the Albinaurics, or through rebirth like the sweetlings, is always doomed to fail. That is, of course, unless you make use of the Rune of the Unborn like your character does.

I loved the video, your cosplay is great! I always believed the albinaurics in Moghwyn were the ones who got to the wrong teleporter in the consecrated snowfield and ended up underground, poor fellas

I think the Nox were using hosts. They likely weren't creating the Albinaurics out of thin air. The Nightfolk were prob the base host for the first gens. The second gens were perhaps created using a Basilisk. The red second gens not only have red skin but also have Omen horns, so I believe this is an environmental mutation. The Dragonkin Soldier was created using a troll which is pretty clear to me.

I think that letenna trusts you because you don’t kill albus when meeting him even though you may think he is an enemy. You decide to do something for him even though you don’t know him, I think Philia is representing the theme of compassion and kindness and I think that the simple act of kindness by bringing the medallion to letenna shows that you are not an, uncaring brute, or scared of them, or hate them for existing, but a person surviving in a cruel world who still has enough room in their heart to be kind

I don't know if you are familiar with Berserk, Miss Chalice, but the stories, lore and themes shared are heavy. From the cocoon, the eclipse, the false hope of a new tree/world order resting on the shoulders of a beautiful boy willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to achieve it. People who want to be selfless vs people who want to appear selfless and all the gray areas in-between. Anyway the cosplay, lewds and lore dives is such a unique blend of nice things, thanks for the content once again :v

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this, but the "soulless demi-gods" are also how the headless corpses found in the mausoleums are referred to. I realise there's evidence enough to support a link between Miquella, Godwynn and Castle Sol, but it's worth considering that whole aspect throws a spanner into the theorycraft.

I know this is quite late, and a bit of a tangent, but I would like to raise the point about Loretta and the Carian knights The Carian family is willing to take pretty much anyone regardless of their general social status if they are strong and willing to swear an oath of loyalty. We see this in the dragons and trolls fighting on their side, trolls who were otherwise going to be treated as slaves or otherwise shunned for their giant blood were allowed join the Carians as knights So Loretta might really be an Albinauric or raised by them and it could be of lesser concern to the Carians then you might expect, since she proved to be strong and willing to serve.

Excellent video Chalice! Another thing of note about the 2nd Gen Albinaurics relates to the subset who patrol the area between eastern Ordina and a dead minor Erdtree. These guys possess gold-hued eyes and are even capable of using the Discus of Light incantation. What are your thoughts on this group?

Thanks for the video and insights. These guys are very interesting and mysterious. This did make me think though, what if Loretta wasn't a albinauric, but was mobility challenged like them, thus feeling compassion for their plight of immobility. I like the idea that, even without full use of her legs, she still became one of the strongest of the Carian knights, but also knew physical shortcomings or origins shouldn't determine a person's perceived potential. Maybe that was why she went to such lengths to help the albinaurics: because she knew what it was like to struggle and saw how much worse they had it than even herself.

Wow! I had no idea you can do that at the end for Latenna's Ashes! Definitely going to do that the next go around! It always bothered me a bit, that at the end of her Questline, you couldn't fulfill her final wish! Now, thanks to THIS, you can!

I love hearing you talk about Elden Ring lore so much. The only issue I have with it is I can't put it on in the background while I do something else because it inevitably becomes the center of my attention. I'd love it if you made an ASMR channel, no pressure if you don't want to though.

Latenna is my personal favourite summon for she can destroy anything from far away. I keep the attention of whatever boss I'm fighting and she just keeps dealing damage. Love this specially when fighting with dragons. I'm glad I found your channel because you do really clear evidence-based digging into the lore unlike the 'paragons' of the scene who keep writing science-level assays about every oh so small detail. So thank you for your work and visual presentation of the videos :)

As always, interesting! Loretta is one of those mysteries I wish answered the most. It feels like there should be enough to puzzle it out, but it feels just tantalizingly out of reach. I guess one thing about her could be that she is also supposed to be the unknown knight trope that is so enjoyed, including by GRRM. Maybe nobody knows that she is an albinauric, because she never showed enough of herself. I doubt we'll hear of her in the DLC, but she must have known Miquella so maybe.

Loretta is one (or should i say two) of my favorite fights in the entire game. As a Carian Knight build myself, with Scholar's Shield and Carian Slicer, it felt like the fantasy equivalent of a jedi duel

( 25:22 ) So the dudes who were at one time loyal to castle sol were trying to resurrect godwin were slayed by a dude who by his prosthesis description "offered this prosthesis in exchange for the lives of defeated knights held prisoner"... he was probably gifted this prosthesis by miquella at some point and was just trying to get back to him... by whatever means necessary. This kind of explains the horrible torture, but the albinaurics in castle sol do a very unique thing, they SCREAM to alert the knights that are in service of Niall to come get you, so not only are they tortured, it seems like they also are brainwashed into assisting their captor by being the alarm bells for his knights... Godwin gave it to the albinaurics and split in half in advance, and put it in the far-reaching locations intentionally, and the albinaurics at castle sol were enslaved, etc., but then when Niall wanted to get back, couldn't. As always, LOVE the video, LOVE the cosplay, and absolutely LOVE the attention to detail!
