I don't normally ever comment to a video but thank you so much for explaining the different toners and how it reacts different colors! I appreciated the part about the levels as well! I made it to a yellow ish color and I would like to get to ash blond in about a week if I can wait!

Thank you so much for this video! I've been wanting to do my own highlights with something I can buy at a drug store. I too have dark curly hair. I've been cutting it myself and I'm ready for highlighting it again. I had grown it out for a couple years, after getting salon highlights. I've been seeing so many videos of ladies with dark brown hair looking to lighten using box dye, and they always come out looking barely any different. Now I know what to do thanks to your video! I did a tiny test strip tonight using L'Oréal Frost & Design. It looks just like what you said to expect from the first application.

+MissCharmsie Thank you for explaining the color process! Pretty much every time I have colored my hair either at home or went to a salon I always have the expectation that I will achieve the color on the box or the picture I saved for my stylist to reference. No matter how many disclaimers I got about raising a dark brown/almost black hair color to a frosted blonde, I would still have my hopes too high to understand the process and was banking on the cost it took to raise my hair only a couple of levels, ultimately ending up disappointed at the results. I actually want to color my hair again for blonde highlight and I've already raised it one level (now at dark chestnut brown) but after watching your video, I'm actually going to wait a while to experiment more with highlight. it'll buy me some time to reach a new season (in life, weather) in which I'll probably appreciate the next stage of color rather than instant frustration over color fails. everything in stages! thanks!

Hello 👋🏽 I’m kind of at a dead end with my hair and it’s still not what I want. It’s a orange copper color now. I was wondering if you knew whether or not i should dye my hair again. I think at this point I need to put a blonde semi permanent dye over or do I put a t18 wella with Wella 50 additive and 20 vol developer??? already did three bleaching sessions. I can send u a pic to see it.

do you think this could work on previously color treated hair? my hair is a natural black but i dyed it brown twice in previous months, i still have that but it’s a lil faded. i really want to go blond but i’m scared it won’t lift or will become orange/yellow? i plan on trying with the same box dye but i don’t know. pls give advice

Great video, I've always loved the shape and color of your hair. Just to make sure I understand, my hair is natural black and if I dye my hair and it turns orange I should wait a few days do it again and it should/could lift to a yellow, and if I do it again I can have the white looking color and thats when I should break out the toner?
@MissCharmsie8 жыл бұрын
Yes that is pretty much it! You have to get to a bright yellow first, it can take a few different bleach sessions as everyone's hair is so different. I put a link in my description where I explain it in more detail than I did in this video, I just didn't want to make it too long ( but it sounds like you already understand it ☺️)

wow, how long did you wait to do the color?, the stages 1 month?, did you get any breakage, i use the same products in the past and lost about 1 in of hair and breakage was bad.You did a great job!
@MissCharmsie8 жыл бұрын
I waited about 2-3 weeks in between, I wasn't really in a rush to go lighter so I took my time with it, I think the time and lots of deep conditioning helped. I also did some trims prior to doing it so my curls weren't really in rough state afterwards ...blonde is always a gamble though for curly hair in my experience!

Lexi Hoygra Fellow mixed girl! Love yourself! And love your curls! You just have to find the right products and routine for your hair! I've just begun to have beautiful curls about 3 years ago and I'm almost 31! And being mixed is great! I felt a similar way you do when I was younger, it'll get better! I'm sure you're beautiful!

I know this is an old post. But I don't love my curls either for a long time. It took me years of learning different products and how they reacted to my hair and what the end result would be. Some products separate ad frizz out my hair while causing shrinkage. Some products coated my hair so heavily and then flaked or made it too hard. I have twins now with different textures and I also had to learn the products for them. They need totally different care. But I will say your hair will grow on you no matter what the texture is. I hope your hair journey has turned out much better since this last post.
