That suggestion about having different necklines in your tops is honestly such a great tip. I feel like when people think of a capsule wardrobe, they think of someone wearing the same exact crew neck tee but purchased 3x in different colors, and then all the outfits just end up accidentally looking the same. On the other hand, you could have 3 white tees but if one's a crew neck, one's a sweetheart neckline, and one's a mockneck/turtleneck, they're all going to have very different vibes and bring something unique to the table.

My goodness, thank you thank you! I've been trying to get the "formula" for this figured out and it seemed to evade me. I appreciated the details of your explanation: get one set, 1 patterned piece, make sure all tops and bottoms are compatible, etc. I took notes on every thing and it's spectacular. It's just enough information without taking up a lot of time. I'm going to go home and evaluate my stuff using your formula and get rid of the excess that is driving me crazy. I think you gave the perfect amount for reliable variety, time to do laundry/repair, and have a system that is very manageable. I can actually do this. I'm sharing it with my mom and daughters. More is not always better, it's exhausting.

I subscribed because I like your presentation, you really have useful information and I also appreciate your passion for helping others. I usually buy clothes for specific occasions and usually don't wear them again. I have my old 'stand bys' but after watching your videos, I am inspired to revamp my wardrobe. Thank you for sharing your experience and motivating me to be more conscious of starting with a few items, mixing and matching, 4x4 = 16 outfits. I’ve discovered an easy minimalist capsule as a closet with full dresses. Throw a dress on pair of boots or shoes with it and you’re done lol. And some blue jeans which any shirt and the world goes with. It’s my amateur opinion lol❤❤❤ love your videos and thank you for all the info you give us. Even older people can use new advice.

I'm currently re-evaluating my closet since my career transition eliminated restrictions on what I can and cannot wear. Wow, this went by way too fast. There are so many gorgeous capsules here. And you make them fun! I’m so tired of capsules that are just the same shirt in beige, white and black along with the same jeans in different colours. I’m old so first learned of building a wardrobe by choosing a patterned dress or blouse and skirt, then choosing the other pieces from the colours in the pattern. During the lockdowns I strayed from a capsule I was happy with and am now stuck with a bunch of stuff from online boredom shopping 😜. You’ve inspired me to try to get back on track.

Hi! Yes, if the black + warmer neutrals are not meshing well with your skin tone, I would try the cool colors like navy, denim, shades of blue and gray with cooler toned off-whites and taupes for your lighter options. Hope that helps!!
