So many "influencers" are spamming their insta stories and youtube channels with "amazon MUST haves" and using psychological tactics like false urgency to push people into consumerism to drive up their amazon affiliate commissions, especially this time of year. It is SO refreshing to see a KZbinr that I admire encourage people to pause and thoughtfully consider their purchases, choose ethical brands, swap with friends, consider thrifting, etc. Just wanted to hop on here and say I so value your message and perspective! Being a Fashion Designer, I love a stuffed, organized closet! In Visual Merchandising class, they taught us to organize light to dark, solids to prints, to neutrals, short to long, small to large, if we want our closet to look like a boutique. I organize my 7 closets worth, white, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, teal, blue, purple, brown, gray, black. Saves time hunting, & style the matching scarf, with a brooch, on the lapel, gloves are folded in half, slipped into the matching coat or jacket pockets, ready to leave, if hurried. Saves drawer space too.

Once you research your MC (10th house) in your tropical astrology chart it is a game changer! I figured it out and my style looks immaculate and I feel a million dollars when I step out of the house.. and hilariously I even had a compliment on my outfit where the overshirt was a hard yakka $2 mens thrift shirt but I had styled it head to toe with the same monochrome beige pants and top which is the guidance for my MC Virgo. I have been wearing active wear as outfits and again have been complimented more than usual. Your MC is what people want to see you wear and also your professional reputation, and you can also research the energy of your rising, venus and moon sign to get your overall aesthetic!

The "if you haven't touched sth in the last six months" isn't really working, if you live with 4 seasons. I don't touch most of my my summer outfits in 6 months lol. I also don't have the space, to put away clothes for different seasons. So I say give the items a year at least, if you're not sure.

In 2019 I got to a point where my closet has only 40 items that I love and that fit. It has been a game changer! I have a super tiny closet (only 2 ft wide and 20" deep with an upper & lower bar). I swap out my wardrobe by warm season & cool season. The clothing iut of season fit into 1 tote.

I feel like my problem is not that I don’t have clothes, I have a bunch of clothes but they are all old and an aesthetic/style I’ve outgrown to be fair I’ve had that same aesthetic since middle school and I’m now 28 so I’ve gotten a lot of use out of those clothes but over the last 3 years or so that’s changed and I don’t have a lot of clothes that fit my new more mature style, I also have a hard time finding pants that fit me and dressing for my body shape.

Hi, I have a kind of 2000s aesthetic, which means I’m looking for colorful clothing items. Any time for that aesthetic? You mentioned in the video to keep colors neutral but my Y2K/2000s aesthetic has lots of bright pinks and other such colorful colors. While it does have some level of neutrals, it’s like half and half. Plus, the level of neutrals is mainly just deeper or darker versions of the brighter colors. I know it isn’t completely only that, but it’s what it’s mainly composed of. Tips for styles like mine? ❤

I think closets are too big!! I live in an older home and my closet is 4.5 feet wide. That’s it. And I fit all seasons in it. Closet is full??? Time to cull or don’t buy. That being said, my closet is very curated, so I don’t add very often. Only if a piece needs replacing.
