Thank you so much for this, please keep going despite not getting as many likes/views as the big channels like snap revise etc. - it's a growing channel and you really are making a difference, your work is really appreciated! :)

Science content from school is so superficial. They have intentionally misplaced or discarded the majority of vital and valid scientific information. This is things seem so vague for me in class and don't make much sense, that's because they're not true. Thankyou for this video it has explained the concept the right way in an amazing manner.

Ohh God! This is the perfect explanation and diagram to represent the nitrogen cycle, sadly my text book and my teacher could never explain this cycle as simple as you did, keep going

Excellent overview. Please can you get a job that the OU and whip all their rambling fluffy year 3 material into shape? In 9 minutes you explain what they can't quite get around to in an entire chapter.

@RoseWhitehead-mx8od8 күн бұрын
Is it right that ammonification only happens when it is converting nitrogen from dead organisms, waste products etc into ammonium and this is only done by saprobionts. Whereas nitrogen fixation occurs only when it is from nitrogen in the atmosphere converted into ammonium and this is only done by bacteria. This would mean that bacteria cannot carry out ammonification?
@samsmithard19002 жыл бұрын
Hey is the relationship between bacteria and legumes mutualistic? I understood that mutualism and symbiosis were two different things
@MissEstruchBiology2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is 😊

I have seen the process in different orders such as nitrogen fixation as last instead of denitrification and am really confused on which one to follow, which one is correct and does it matter the order?
@MissEstruchBiology2 жыл бұрын
Hey, it is a cycle, so there is no start or end stage so it doesn't matter. I hope that helps 😊😊

@MatT-vf7qo4 жыл бұрын
can ammonification also be where nitrogen fixing bacteria converts nitrogen gas into ammonium
@MissEstruchBiology4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Whilst this stage can result in the production of ammonium, that stage is classed as nitrogen-fixing, rather than ammonification as it this is when N gas in the atmosphere is fixed into an N-containing compound, which might be ammonia.
@onepumpkid3504 Жыл бұрын
At 4:00, would we not call that step nitrogen fixation instead of ammonification?
@ChanceChelios2 жыл бұрын
So lets say I start a new soil in pots/raised beds, would i have to grow a cover crop crimson clover “Legumes” , sow it, covering it with compost creating “green manure” so it will then have Rhizobia “nitrogen fixing bacteria” already bio available in the soil for that symbiotic relationship for the next cover crop? would it already be bio available for any crop available ,Or would I still have to plant a second grow of Crimson clover, in the same bed to help make nitrogen bio available for the Main crop you’re growing?
@atrappy20772 жыл бұрын
4:00 , nitrogen into ammonium from nitrogen fixing bacteria in soil. is that nitrogen fixing or ammonification ?

3:56 does ammonification convert atmospheric nitrogen into ammonium? i thought it converted nitrites into ammonium.
@MissEstruchBiology2 жыл бұрын
Hello Ammonification more refers to ammonium produced from the death and decay of organis matter ( e.g proteins)
@alexandra1299 ай бұрын
what is the order of the these processes? like what happens first
@porcupineou3 ай бұрын
its a cycle so theres no “first”, they all occur at the same time in different areas, just learns what leads to what and youll be good
@joshuamensah93093 жыл бұрын
And didn't you mean to say Ammonium instead of Ammonia at 5:59 ?
@MissEstruchBiology3 жыл бұрын
hello, yes, ammonification results in ammonium being production.

@MissEstruchBiology3 жыл бұрын
Hello, Yes it is, I perhaps didn't phrase it clearly. I meant 'if it is not a leguminous plant, and clover and beans plants are examples of leguminous plants' Hope that helps :)
@nikta3679 Жыл бұрын
at 3:26 are you referring to mycorrhizae ? So only legumenes plants have mycorrhizae?
