Hoping the best for you! I lived with eczema and relied on steroids since childhood. I'm a doctor and a few years into practice I started having painful weeping eczema all over my hands and legs that almost made me call my disability insurance to call it quits. Had to wrap my hands and wear two layers of gloves before going into see patients. Tried every possible remedy before actually listening to my dermatologist. I've been on dupixent for a few years which healed me 99% with very mild side effects so I was one of the lucky ones where this worked but now I need shots every other week for as long as it works.
@MissFitAndNerdy2 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry you went through that! Did you go through topical steroid withdrawal too? My dermatologist friend has been trying to convince me to go on dupixent too lol but personally, I don't want to use a prescription immunomodulator unless it's my absolute last resort since it's just masking the symptoms rather than treating the root cause and, like you said, once you start using it, you have to keep using it or else the symptoms will come right back :/

Sorry about your flare! I’m in month 5 of tsw and know the struggle very deeply. Some things that have helped me calm down flares have been Dead Sea salt baths with diotamaceous earth, as well as a homemade tallow balm (1 cup tallow and 1/4 cup olive oil). Berberine is also a good supplement to investigate as there have been studies that it helps tsw sufferers

Hey, I am sorry you are experiencing flare up again! Here are some tips from my personal experience and as a Pharmacist 1)Try wet wrap for your neck, wash or shower your skin with warm water, put a lot of moisturizer, then put towel in warm water, squeeze excess water and put on your neck for at least 30 Min. Then put moisturizer on your skin again. This way of cooling down really helps with inflammation and swelling in area. 2) I am not sure if it was Sriracha Sauce in your veggie bowl? Try to avoid everything containing tomatoes, paprika (also spices, black pepper), potatoes and eggplant, lot of ppl with some inflammatory disease experience flare up after consuming those. 3) flare up after hike is more likely connected to pollen allergy, get tested what allergy exactly and maybe you can get hyposensitization, it helped me a lot. You can also check pollen concentration in the air in your area everyday and see how your skin reacts. Then when you find out what plants you are allergic to, you can avoid hike on those days when their pollen concentration in the air is too high. 4)When you need your skin to clear up super fast, eat just chicken (just olive oil and salt, no other spices), rice, cucumber, salad, carots, celery, blueberries, watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, kefir - this is not a long term diet just for 2-3 days to clear up skin faster. ❤

Haven't watched yet, but here to comment On topic/off topic I know you use red light so do I. I have for years & for variety of pets too. It is a wonderful therapy. A few days ago my lil jack Russell was attacked by an off leash dog on our walk. It was brutal. She survived but has extensive injuries and a long road ahead. Heart breaking The vet recommended light therapy. I thought she meant red light. I told her I have a mat and flash light but believed I couldn't start until stitches can be removed. She said there's is flourscent light therapy. Researching I see it has blue and red but a gel is used to "create" uv. It penetrates deep and changes skins microbiome somehow in process. Healing times in trial were over 50% faster in dogs w antibiotics & this light therapy. 4 wks vs 10. Impressive. I tell you all this because in researching it I have learned it is used for people as well. Now since we don't know exactly what is triggering your skin I can't say if it will help. I know you love research and are a wonderful advocate for yourself. I thought perhaps you'd want to check into this therapy.

Hey! I’m Nor-Cal (far north) and we are moving because of the climate and wildfire smoke and its effect on my skin (I’m 4yrs TSW). So-Cal has the wildfire smoke particulate matter & high emissions. A doctor (Ian Myles MD MPH - look him up here) did a study and found a correlation between places like California and increase in TSW/eczema symptoms. It’s the diisocyanates in them that specifically affect us more-so than others. Also, a lot of fillers in supplements can irritate the intestine and cause skin flares. All that to say; I totally understand the mind-body trip of chronic pain and TSW/eczema specifically.

Hey Marisa! I'm so sorry to hear you're having a flare 😢 I know how it feels, I've been following your channel because of similar skin issues. I'm looking at you and can feel how painful it is 😢 Hope you'll get well soon, stay strong. I'm not really a big fan of supplements, but I do take iron, mg, d3 and omega 3+e. The last one helps me with skin dryness, but none of them helps me with the inflammation. I'm following antihistamine diet and it keeps me in remission. From time to time I'm eating some foods, that I shouldn't, but it seems fine, as long, as it's not too much and not too often, but I do avoid everything that's not fresh. I've tried paleo and AIP, but they didn't help me as much, I was still quite miserable back then. Right now I've kinda accepted the diet as life long, there's logic in it and it's not as restrictive as AIP. For me my inflammation not because there's not enough of something, but because there's too much of something, in my case it's lactose, omega 6 and histamine.

Im sorry you’re going through this. Im assuming you’ve tried this but just incase when you have a flare up you could try Benadryl to confirm its an allergic reaction to the environment. I get similar issues with my skin when i spend time outdoors in certain parks in my neighborhood and Benadryl clears it up within 2 hours. Also if you want to see quicker reactions in your skin try a Korean skincare routine using serums that contain the vitamins you think are helping. It wont be as potent as ingesting the vitamins but there will be a noticeable difference in the skin in a few days. Specially if you don’t have a skin care care routine beyond soap and water. Good luck and hope you feel better soon
