I have a client who got her hands on Ozempic, is there something I can be doing to help keep her as healthy as possible while she takes it besides continuing her resistance training and encouraging a balanced nutrition?

Hey! I’m Nor-Cal (far north) and we are moving because of the climate and wildfire smoke and its effect on my skin (I’m 4yrs TSW). So-Cal has the wildfire smoke particulate matter & high emissions. A doctor (Ian Myles MD MPH - look him up here) did a study and found a correlation between places like California and increase in TSW/eczema symptoms. It’s the diisocyanates in them that specifically affect us more-so than others. Also, a lot of fillers in supplements can irritate the intestine and cause skin flares. All that to say; I totally understand the mind-body trip of chronic pain and TSW/eczema specifically.

Great video. I always find your core information is always very sensible. Where I live in Australia, ozempic is not a big thing - our drug prescribing tends to be highly regulated so it’s harder for people to get unless they have type 2 diabetes - the big thing is some form of bariatric surgery - at least half the nurses I work with have had this - not saying it is wrong but it is major surgery and very expensive so people are using their pension plans to access it.

Wonder of glucose spikes (not insanely high or all the time)... But I wonder of them being beneficial in terms of it being a hormetic stressor?

Wow! It’s almost like if a life of healthy as clean as possible eating, 30 minutes minimum of movement a day, enough sleep and water and good gut health was the key to a healthy life.🤯🤯🤯 I love your channel btw. I just find funny how a lot of people want a magical solution to health, when we know since forever that what I mentioned is mostly all you need to do for it.😅

Why is everyone so scared of temporary glucose spikes? Am I missing something? Isnt it just a normal bodily function after normal eating. These kind of devices can cause eating disorders/ocd's in people. U shouldnt advertise it

I don’t think “you wouldn’t know I ate anything after eating it” is a good thing or something to aim for. You’re supposed to have blood sugar rise after eating- blood sugar exists to keep you alive. I worry that all the carb fear is going to lead people to eat less healthy Whole Foods like potato, sweet potato, fiber rich carbs, fruits, starchy veg, things we should all get more of, that the healthiest populations in the world eat. And instead Americans are focusing on protein Oreos and an extra patty on their cheeseburger. But won’t eat an apple because carbs.

Aged steak is higher in histamine. I ordered steaks from a farm that specializes in low-histamine/allergy friendly/autoimmune friendly meats. They flash freeze their meat so there is no histamine development! And raspberries are low histamine :)

I'm so glad you made a video on this, it's beyond terrible how Ozempic has become normalized, and people have zero clue of the side effects. How a third of the weight lost is muscle and bone mass, how the majority regain the weight when they get off. Who knows what other negative side effects will be discovered in a few years.
@MissFitAndNerdy
@MissFitAndNerdy 5 күн бұрын
It does appear that a lot of those side effects can be mitigated if ozempic is used properly (in combo with resistance training and probably a reverse diet after coming off). But yeah, you can’t just take it, not change your lifestyle, and expect permanent results And yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few years we find out about a lot of other negative side effects

My wife got a hand rash from a skin cream 3 months ago & her Doc gave her Betamethasone shots which cleared it up quickly but it came back worse & travelled up her lower arms. She has no history of rashes or any skin problems so it's purely TSW. She has had success with Tea Tree Oil (heavily diluted wet cotton ball with water or avocado oil & 2 drops of TTO) - this speeds up the transition from red-skin stage to the dry stage discussed in the above videos. She's also using Medical Grade Manuka Honey (UMF 20+ MGO 830) on the affected areas. Manuka Honey contains Methylglyoxal with antibacterial properties to prevent infections...plus some other properties you can research...She dilutes it about 1:4 but that's up to you. Always test a small area with something new as we all react differently. Here's a helpful video on TSW: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZXGfoqdgK6kp9U He describes the necessary transition from red-stage to dry stage & how creams & other potions often delay the healing process. We won't do the exotic therapies like NMT, CAP, etc that he mentioned. She is sticking with TTO & Manuka Honey for now. This is all new to us and we are on a learning journey

I have histamine intolerance and I've tried every supplement under the sun but what really, truly helped me is a combination of Bromelaine and Quercetine. I take both supplements on a daily and within two months I am finally able to drink coffee and eat dark chocolate and other foods that would've given me a histamine overload for days usually. I know different supplements work different for everyone (DAO for example does nothing for me), but if you're struggling with histamine intolerance I'd highly recommend giving Bromelaine and Quercetine a shot.

If you look up glucose revolution in KZbin, that doctor will mention that you should start with a vegetable in the morning, because it provides a coating. So when you eat protein, carbs and fruits. The percentage of lowering the glucose in the body is like 73% I've also read that if you drink kefir water after eating the probiotics does better for your body and kombucha has way more probiotics because it's fermented for a longer period than kefir water, so I would think it would be better to drink it after having a meal and also it would help avoiding sugar spike

This has been a helpful video. Every symptom you had is exactly the same as mine. This has been a problem for a long time now. and it seems to have had cycle of flares up with months of nothing serious and mostly clear. I must say it was madding when I was in the most awful bouts. bloody arms neck chest side and my legs from my feet up to my thighs. lymphatic edema where it was hard to walk and I would fall down, which was super surprising to me because I never had such trouble with walking ever. The drying skin was crazy on my legs every day there would be a new layer of dead dry skin, and I would scrape it off and would sweep up tons of dead skin on the floor daily. I have been trying to fight this skin problem. right now, it is coming back on me again. inflammation systemically. I did subscribe to your web site. I do believe it is Steroid withdraw systems. I have tried so many things to try to find a solution to end this MESS. Thanks for reading my message. John A. ps. I think you're on to what this MESS is. I have very little regard to Dermatologist. there very much like practicing Physicians. I need real solutions I am tired of being their Genine pig. I have been researching this skin issue for years. Thanks for posting your journey with this awful MESS.

Question, because this has always confused me. Is it that you want a steady-ish line on the glucose, or is it more so that you want a reasonable spike and return to baseline over a relatively short time? Is it the initial reaction to the foods, or is it the reaction over then next say two hours that should be more or less concerning? Both?
@MissFitAndNerdy
@MissFitAndNerdy 8 күн бұрын
It's both! Area under the curve, total time spent out of range, total time spent elevated, etc. There's a lot of factors that go into what constitutes "healthy" glucose response
@leni0210
@leni0210 7 күн бұрын
You want the curve to stay as flat as possible throughout the day without huge spikes(+30) above baseline. That means stable blood sugars and low insulin levels.

I would be curious to see how when you eat, it impacts it. Like eating smaller meals or bigger meals or fasting.
@MissFitAndNerdy
@MissFitAndNerdy 8 күн бұрын
The only thing I noted in this regard is that eating too close to bed was a big problem -- my glucose would stay elevated and I would get worse sleep. And eating smaller vs bigger meals absolutely changes how big the spike is since part of the spike is predicated on how much sugar you're consuming. So if you eat the same meal but smaller (less sugar) you'll get less of a spike. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't eat enough just to keep your glucose stable haha

So, I've recently been through a breakup. I broke it off because I was putting in all the effort, and I was getting bread crumbs in return. Long story short, the emotional stress of losing a person who I felt I had an amazing connection with knocked 20lbs off of me in a week and a half. Has this ever happened to you or anyone in the comments? The relationship was short enough that I was able to free myself from the attachment, but I still can't eat. If this happens to other people during breakups, I'd like to know how to get past this appetite and palletability problem.

I kind of had an opposite version of this where I became friends with a guy at work almost completely accidentally and it was moving very quickly and I was super anxious and nervous because I was excited to make a new friend who I also felt had an instant connection with. I couldn't really eat much and was dropping weight pretty quickly because my stomach was in knots similar to how anxious and nervous I feel when I'm about to go into an interview. I think what helped me get back to a regular eating routine was getting into a regular exercise routine as well. I do powerlifting and that has definitely increased my appetite. On days I didn't feel like eating, I would still think about needing to get X amount of protein in because I had to be eating to help my lifting rather than just eating when I feel like it or when I crave certain foods. Other things affected this for me like not sleeping correctly as well. It might be helpful for you to examine other lifestyle/health habits to make sure everything is going well before tackling the appetite thing. You can also try to do or eat things that induce appetite. Everyone is different, so I won't say what you need to do, but for me, chewing gum increases my appetite.

I am the same way and unfortunately the only thing that fully heals this is time. What I did was just force myself to eat. Eat small portions frequently or just find something calorie dense. Set alarms if you need to. Accept that your food intake will probably plummet for a while and just be kind to yourself. As you heal, your appetite will grow again. I will get better!
