The Tarantella Dance of Apulia

While some Tarantellas are performed as a courtship dance, the ancient traditions of Apulia in Italy depict a dancer possessed. This "magico-religious" tarantella is said to be an ancient exorcism or a curative performance to treat the delirious victim of a spider bite.

Ciao, my father was originated from San Marzano di San Giuseppe in Puglia, and i remember, when my father was on vacation with me visiting my nonna and nonno, outside on the house there was a big spider living in a hole on the wall, i was sitting there, smoked some cigarettes and talked to the spider, which was looking out of the hole. 😃 many greetings from brunswick in Germany and please stay safe 🙏❤️
