Each have advantages and disadvantages. Cannons hit ground. But they need pylons. Spores can move, destroy mutas better, and can heal. But they need creep. Turrets can be repaired, have upgrades, and are cheapest. But they can burn down.

​@@geuros If i remember correctly an SCV is like 45-50 minerals per minute (depending on 2 or 3 worker saturation) so a turret is still cheaper (and moreso in multiples)

@@mattor300Zerg static defence on paper is weaker but Is always augment by queen dps and heals as well as mobility, id say Protoss are the worst because of the pylons requirements, can’t repair health damage and I think (not positive) have the shortest range of the static defences.

@@BigHeadClan tbh you most of the time want your quines to transfuse your more expensive units, still pure battle wise zerg loses, photon cannon also is not bad, again remember the static defense has its special use for each faction, and it just so happens photon cannon is amazing against baneling/zergling runbyes, as it takes the agro from probes and can often deal with small numbers, plus again its free in terms of suply and very easy to setup thanks to protos warp in mechanic

It’s also worth noting that the spore crawlers were the only ones that could have been left alone because of regeneration The last missile turret was on fire and would have burned down if not actively repaired which means it does need a little active player attention to keep going Whereas spores technically don’t

Protoss can attack both ground and air plus it can quickly regenerate shields, Zerg can move and regenerate, terran can do neither but it has the highest damage output and it can be repaired at the cost of minerals.

Turrets are by far the best, especially fully upgraded (range and building armour). Spores can move though and have pretty high hp pool and their dmg vs. biological is pretty similar to missile turret's.

I mean as if you didn't know all balance patches are in Terran favor very rarely does Terran get a nerf and when they do its Like the explosion range being shrunk on widdow mines.... they didn't nerf the Terran just made it slightly more child proof so drag backs didn't hurt marines so much

IMO proof that zerg spore crawlers should be better. They cost more than the missile turret (because of the drone) so even with their versatility (movable) they shouldn't be so low-damage. You get 0.19 dps per mineral with a spore crawler, 0.393 with a missile turret. So missile turrets do twice as much damage per mineral than spore crawlers. Spore crawlers are tankier and can move, but IMO offensive power is most important on static defenses because the quicker you destroy a stack of air units the less damage they'll do to your economy or turrets. IMO spore crawlers should do 60% or 75% as much damage per mineral as missile turrets, rather than less than 50%. Photon cannons are a totally different circumstance, as they can be used aggressively in rushes and can attack ground units as well.

"Best" is a confusing metric to guage The battlecruiser destroyed one of the anti air turrets. It only stripped the shields off of the photon cannons, and the Spore crawlers can heal back to full if left alone. Thier costs are different and there are other properties that do set them apart. Results would have been different if there were SCVs to repair the Missile turret, though that would have increased the cost. There could have been Shield batteries supporting the Photon cannons And you can micro which spore crawler takes damage. you'd have also gotten vastly different outcomes if this was a a Battlecruiser and say, a thor. Or a broodlord, as 2 of the races would have failed instantly Starcraft 2 is such a nuanced game

Missile turret: Fastests kill, will loose one due to fire if not repaired, cannot move, have no build restrictions ignoring tech. Spore crawler: Second fastest kill, has the most relative health after the battle, heals, can move, requires creep Cannon: Slowest kill, weakest as it looses one cannon, has half healing post battle, requires power, can shoot ground. Of the 2 dedicated AA, the spore is still the better option compared to turret, even if the turret i faster. They survived with less hp lost relative to their health pool and will regen health during the fight. This means that the spores can deal with more flying enemies than the same amount of missile turrets can. Turrets also end up taking more ressources if they take damage as it takes minerals to repair them.

Spores are my personal favorite because of the Regen and mobility and extra damage in mirror matches. Turrets kind of suck vs mutas and those tend to be bigger problems than BCs for me

The other two are also micro-free in repairing themselves (guaranteed slowly with zerg, optional transfuses Vs partially with shields). Only the missile turret requires apm when damaged.

You should try the same but with different armor types! Battlecruiser is heavy if I'm remembering correctly, there's not much of a good way to test light armor air but it's worth a shot I feel!

Turrets get bonus against mechanical, spore crawlers get bonus vs biological. Considering how close it was and that the spores heal themselves over time and that turret was going to die without intervention... I still think Zerg won this.

I actually got the second fastest time last January. My brother took me to the Petretta center and I went down their bullet slide. I think I went so fast because of the new swimming trunks that I had just bought but I also have a good build for waterslides. The life gaurd said that my time was 7.43 seconds though which only one other person went faster had ever gotten that. Even though the life gaurd said this, I have a cousin Lucas and Lucas doesn't believe it. He told me that's what the life gaurd says to everyone but he was also jealous as hell. You could tell just by the way he said it.

Terran should be able to salvage any building. But they need an scv to do so and only get minerals. Terran should also be able to choose which side tech labs go on. Drones should auto enter and exit nydus worms when taking the nearest path back to a hatchery. Protoss don't need anything 😂

If Protoss cannons didn't shoot both air & ground, I'd complain about the Turret being overpowered... it still kinda is, especially given it's price, but I think if they increased the cost, people wouldn't build them as often. Kinda expected Spores to do better than they did. Guess that makes sense too though, they don't do bonus against massive or mechanical.

@@BigHeadClan All Terran units do not heal themselves(except for the Reaper). You have known this way back in 1999 with Star Craft 1. You always need to have a SCV, Terran medic, or a Medivac drop ship repair or heal other units that do not have to be Terran at all. Using any other unit to heal and repair other units in the game is not self healing. The Zerg Queen may heal and repair other Zerg units, but it cannot heal or repair itself. If you still want to claim that using SCV units is self healing, that is your opinion, and it is not technically correct. Only the Reaper unit has self healing. I do not include game bugs or special game modes that allow for other abilities and game units.
