We moved to Berry Hill last October. I have visited Nashville since 2019 for work multiple times and I am so happy to finally be living here full time!

21:34 one of the biggest reasons why I want to move there is the support. Every musician is really supportive of each other’s. That’s my first impression I got from visiting Nashville. I asked questions no one gave me snarky remarks or answers. Out of the 4 musicians, I talk to and even the guy a the cashier were so helpful. I really liked that😊. Also the air is so nice there, that I felt I could breathe for the first time.

I live in Midtown and although there are indeed a line of bars here I wouldn’t classify it as loud or a party scene. We are right next to the beautiful Vanderbilt campus and I’ve never been unable to sleep or felt like I was in a party scene (I’m in my mid-30s, work in corporate America, and go to bed at 9pm even on weekends lol)

There is a train, the music city star. Its a commuter rail and runs from downtown. Stops at donelson, hermitage, mt juliet, martha and lebanon. Only runs mon-fri and about 6am til 6pm.

For years I commuted into downtown Nashville on the bus and didn't find it to be a dangerous experience.

I work a normal job and I don’t feel like it’s disheartening at all! Nashville is no different from any other city. You have folks who have all sorts of different work schedules everywhere. I don’t think that should deter anyone who works a corporate job from moving here.

Nashville is pretty walkable. If you live downtown, it is easy to walk to Capitol Hill, Germantown, SOBRO, Gulch, downtown ext. If you dont want to walk, there are ton of electric scooters.

The tornado situation shouldn't be down played, it's gotten so much worse over the last few years. I feel like my perspective of living in Nashville is very different because I don't live in Nashville proper. I live about 30 minutes outside in Spring Hill. It is absolutely a big city and I don't get why people say it has a small town feel. I never see the same people regularly lol. I rarely have a reason to go downtown because all the restaurants are gimmicky and over priced. It's over crowded and everyone is drunk. Nashville is fun for a weekend, but living here is boring. Plus the scenery gets old. If you drive 8 hours in any direction you're looking at the same trees....lol. It sucks that if you want to get anywhere, it's at least a 30 minute drive. Nothing is convenient and traffic is horrendous.

I don’t enjoy living here, but so many people do. I hope more people move here who will love it! Also, one thing I think that should be mentioned in the weather department - is that it rains every single week. Always. There is always at least 1-2 days of rain a week, I think that should be mentioned. As well as the weekends, most weekends are rainy..
@julieberry1683
@julieberry1683 5 ай бұрын
That’s definitely not true! It doesn’t rain here every weekend. There are seasons of rain just like anywhere else, but I would say you exaggerated quite a bit.

I agree with most of what you stated. As someone who moved here a few years ago from the Midwest and travels frequently, I will offer an additional perspective. Cost of living is lower than most US cities. Housing market is booming, but you can still get a beautiful house for much less than other parts of the country. No state income taxes and low real estate taxes, but sales tax is high. Roads are not well taken care of, bad pot holes in the winter, debris in the middle of the highway lanes, road kill that sits on the side of the road until it decays. Traffic is really bad as you mentioned and drivers are one of the worst I’ve seen in the country, worst than NY and LA drivers imo. The natives are not very nice to tourists or transplants, so you have to learn to ignore them. Super dog friendly, lots of events catered towards dogs, many patios and stores allow pets. Several events and groups out there to make friends. Lastly, SO MUCH TO DO!! Unfortunately it’s land locked, but we do have some lakes and amazing scenery. We’re only 1-2 hours away from beautiful mountains. It is a great city to be in as a young professional.

Just subscribed! I currently live in Mount Juliet- great up in Columbia, went to Lipscomb, but worked in Nashville, hung out in Nashville most of my life. My husband worked at Gibson for 30 years. About to retire myself and have my own channel too. We are big foodies! And still go in to Nashville for that! :-) Nice to find your vlog!

Nashville really has this mono-culture thing going on--everyone has to say how amazing it is or you get the side eye. Straight up mean people who can't drive--like Seattle but with ungodly weather. Nashville does not have a culture outside of drinking. Cars don't know how to react to a person on a bike. Food is horrible unless you only eat out of a deep fryer. Most unnecessarily overpriced city up there with DC.

I would love to visit Nashville but good to be aware of the city bus system having safety concerns. If I were to visit the city I would probably rent a car(since I would be flying in) or Uber/lift depending on if I was traveling myself or with others.

yes renting a car would be super helpful unless you are staying in a central area where you can walk/easily get Ubers :)

seems like cost of living is high, unless someone is buying a house, renting is average, food being like NYC or LA sounds ridiculous, tax on purchases is about 10 percent. So you dont get income tax, but depending on the state income tax can be fairly low and doesnt really matter unless youre making half a mil. So you may save on income tax yet it gets overshadowed by expensive food and taxes elsewhere. The cheapest states are also often the most run down and dangerous too. This country is gonna go downhill. If someone gets 16 an hour at a regular store, they cant afford rent.

Is sylvan park a neighborhood that’s safe and popular? I was looking towards East Nashville but the vibe doesn’t seem like it’s something I would like. I would like a nice walkable neighborhood that isn’t too insanely expensive
