to me, gta 3 is the 3d version of gta 1 and 2. The payphones, hidden packages, pay and sprays wanted levels, they even added the option to play it with the gta 1 and 2 camera. thats why it feels so different to all the other 3d gta games. when it came out they didnt know it was going to turn into the series it did, it was literally just the 3d version of the previous games

35:50 Fun Fact! For bomb the base, There’s an adrenaline pill on top of the roof and the effects never ware off if your using the sniper scope. This can allow you too take out everybody in slow motion before 8-ball can get onto the boat! This might help counteract the controller issues!

Another trick is you can drive a car over 8-Ball without killing him, which will trap him for a bit which gives you more time to kill everyone

Underrated channel for both gta videos but also gaming videos and videos on this channel in general in my opinion! Great explaining and feels like im listening to a story with the great narration and everything. Love all the episodes with the characters biography , background etc. aswell! Also, regarding the gta 3 changing the gaming genre of open world games, i think it was great how they made it a 3d world and the freedom Rockstar Games made in the gta 3 world, all on the PlayStation 2. Even if the story wasnt what it is now, it was still, at least, good for its time. ❤️💯😊👍🌲🌠

Killing Catalina is definitely the most satisfying task ever to achieve in this game - comparable to Lance in VC or Tempeny in SA. Never grew bored of doing that. Great content dude.

GTA III will always be my favorite game. I played it in 2002 and it was the coolest game I played at that time. It frustrated me at times, I was 13 when I first played it, but the freedom to do whatever you wanted was the biggest allure for me. I didn’t think anything about trying to 100% complete it. I just played and learned as I went. In those times it was a big learning curve but I enjoyed it. It was a shock learning that the mafia was carrying shotguns after whacking Salvatore. Speaking of him I loves the freedom the older games gave you of eliminating Sal, Chunky Lee Chong, etc. The grungy atmosphere how just about every gang is hostile towards you at the end just adds to it. Grinding the game for many years I picked up on a lot of obscure things from missions. GTA San Andreas maybe the best overall game in the 3D series but my favorite all time is GTA 3. I love the over look you done of this classic Guinness

19:00 They're on a timer just like Joe's missions, you're not told when they're available, but when they are, the phone will be ringing. There's also no need to wait to progress further into the game before more phone missions unlock, they're all available from the start, you just have to be there by the phone at the right time.

51:46 If I remember correctly (im not sure if i learnt it on 3, VC or SA) when I was a young kid I realised that when u go on a killing spree say u start with a handgun, when u get ur first star switch gun kill a couple more and you'll get another star. Switch gun again and so on.. that's how I used to get 6 stars quickly.

Been playing through the DE trilogy om xbsx and it ran quite smoothly, never did finish them back in the day on ps2. I think lack of autosaves and having to reload saves/go back to mission starts with likely undiagnosed adhd meant i just used liberty city as a playground lol About halfway through SA now. It was amazing how much nostalgia hit and how well i knew liberty and vice city. Great video bud, the original game has so much more character and gloom over the glossy DE. I apreciated the quality of life features as a console peasant.

Fun fact. You can actually visit the location where the opening cutscene takes place. However you must fly the dodo and it is a no collision area out of bounds. You can look up some videos about it. Interesting stuff.

Asuka states that Catalina has hit squads out to take care of Claude, but Catalina had *just* learned that Claude was still alive from the bank heist and was shocked, so there should have been no way for Miguel to know that Catalina had roaming death squads hunting down a man she thought to be dead.

That and the *MASSIVE*, gaping plot hole in "Kingdom Come", where Catalina leaves you a love note and tries to kill you. This is despite likely either: A) Thinking you were dead or B) Being dead At the time of you playing the mission. I suppose if you started the mission between Grand Theft Aero and The Exchange it might make sense.

Try that yourself. It does technically speed you up but spinning the damn thing around every time and actually driving like that is just way more tedious than it's worth and a much bigger pain in the ass than just doing Vigilante with a normal cop car IMO.

I always "cheated" to make the Vigilante missions really easy. At least on the original PS2 version, if you pause and unpause the game very quickly when you are near the criminal, they will stop and get out of the car. Then you just run them over. And on "Marked Man" for Ray, I always use the subway tunnels. Makes the mission incredibly easy and safe.

Ah my favourite GTA game. It was so influential but has aged really poorly which is why I was so excited for the Definitive Trilogy because I thought they'd be full on remakes. Actually Marty Chunks’ last mission becomes available after you finish his third mission. You get paid more for El Burro’s Trial By Fire if you kill the Triads at the basketball court. For Marty’s The Wife mission I presume the developers expected you to push the car into the water with another car. 46:37 actually they’re only the FBI in the PC version as in the PS2 version it’s the Mafia watching the Yakuza.

For me i didn't played GTA III until i was in my early 20's despite that i've already played both Vice City & San Andreas growing up. Tbh the ambiance of Liberty City while gritty and somewhat depressing in contrast to the vibrant beaches of sunshine Vice City and the Suburbs and country styled livestyle of San Andreas, there was something about Liberty City itself that captivated me and that's the overall feel of the place. GTA 3 has a bit of everything and that's a good thing, although some of the missions are somewhat wacky unfair "i'm looking at you Expresso 2 Go" if you didn't had the Bulletptoof Patroit from Machowski. The weapons "Oh boy the weapons" are stupidly overpowered especially the M-16 and Shotgun that could take you out in about 2 seconds, but overall it was a fun experience.

3 is actually my favorite of the trilogy. The other 2 are brilliant and definitely deserve the praise they receive, but I'm a sucker for games located in NYC or in this case, a city loosely based on it. Plus the almost arcade structure of the game is more appealing to me

Much of GTA3's dev took place in Scotland. That's why there are tons of UK English references in it. If you ever mod the game, you'll see the pieces of the car named "boot" (trunk), "wings" (fenders), bonnet (hood), etc. You can modify the "colour" palette and "tyre" treads. You can find it explicitly in-game such as 55:58 "Big puff hair dryer" (puff is a British homophobic slur.) 38:48 "THIS is not how pagers worked." Dude, you're wrong. The first-gen pagers only supported showing the number of the caller. Later came pagers which allowed for the direct receiving of arbitrary numbers from phone operators. Someone could send you numbers on your pager if they knew your number. My father was in the Air Force. He'd receive numbers ranging from 1-10. He told us to alert him if he got a page with a number of 3 or more. 10 was an emergency. He received a 10 one night, which we later found out was to inform him he'd been called in to serve in Desert Storm. After that, they had alphanumeric pagers and, eventually, two-way pagers. Two-way pagers allowed for the sending and receiving of arbitrary text, *exactly* as shown in the game. Why are you wasting our time talking about the mods you've installed interfering with the sniper rifle again? Nobody cares. 41:30... you can obtain a tank relatively easily. Just use a flamethrower or Molotov cocktail to make the driver and passenger exit. 54:45... that sure is an Infernusy-looking Cheetah you have there. 1:04:05 "Kill Kenji and all of his guards..." You A) don't have to kill the guards at all and B) will fail the mission if you kill all of them. "Killing all of the Yakuza members guarding Kenji will fail the mission, with the "Mission Failed" description mentioning that someone has to witness the attack." 1:11:37 Catalina reacts with shock that you're still alive after... leaving you a love note in the car in Kingdom Come... 1:45:40 Catalina and Miguel have had no contact between Catalina being made aware Claude is still alive and now. Miguel telling Asuka that Catalina has "death squads" out to kill him... when she didn't even know he was still live is yet another major plot hole. (They really just gave up somewhere around mid-Staunton, didn't they?) At the end; talking about poor controls and difficult missions in GTA3 when comparing it to the slop-fest GTA4 (that has animations that happen in geological time and some missions that are incredibly difficult) is... certainly *an* opinion.

Alright. Let's see: About the fourth mission for Marty, it becomes avaible immediately after completing his previous mission. So you can finish his story quite quickly. Still bs that there is no blue indicator about his missions or any info. I accidentaly skipped him the first time and only found out about his missions after looking at 100% guide. And Shoreside Veil has Pay'n'spray.
