Climbing the Middle Teton was a goal of mine for years now and I finally accomplished it! After years of hiking and climbing multiple trails and peaks in Grand Teton National Park, I have finally summited this iconic peak. Grand Teton National Park is host to unlimited adventures for everyone. Climbing the Middle Teton should be on the top of the list for any would be adventure enthusiast. Climbing the Middle Teton's southwest couloir in-itself is not a very technical endeavor but is definitely a strenuous task. Car to Car from Lupine Meadows Trailhead is around 16 miles and over 6,000 feet of elevation gain so be prepared for an all day extravaganza in the mountains!

We have a trip planned in late July to hike Disappointment Peak and Middle Teton with JHMG. Your video is more fuel to make sure I'm training right now and continue to get myself ready. We opted for the two day trip to summit Middle Teton and loon forward to camping overnight (I would assume) in the meadow.

Thanks Josh! You gotta get out to the Teets if you've never been there before, you'd love it! I'm headed International this summer 😃 got some big dogs picked out near Whistler in August and than back to Banff in September. If the boss lets me I'd love to sneak out to Washington again in July. Might have to take a long weekend with the boss of the house in Fall if it's nice as well. Saving up my PTO!!!

Love the video looks so fun my friends and I always go out to the Tetons every summer and hike and bike. I have always wanted to do middle and am really trying to convince the group to go. We live in the Wasatch in Utah and hike there all the time doing stuff like Timp, Devils Castle, and Pfeifferhorn how would you compare it to that stuff. I know I can do it but for the rest the group that are not as big of hikers how hard would it be for them. And how long did it take you hours wise and what would you rate the scramble.
@TheMountainMatt
@TheMountainMatt 5 күн бұрын
For experienced and fit people the Middle will be tough but doable. I’m an old SOB with bad knees so that doesn’t help 🤣. It’s mostly an endurance thing unless you camp up high somewhere. The rock in the couloir and on the Middle is similar to the Wasatch. The couloir is tight and a little loose in spots so if there’s a big group ahead or behind I’d be worried about rocks falling. I luckily didn’t see anyone up the couloir, and that was July. That boulder field on the way out was terrible, never ending when you’re fried. Sounds like you’re ready for a run at it 👍🏼! Let me know if you do it and how it went! Cheers!
