honestly the internal locks and security should just go on an airgapped system. (can't be accessed by any internet and only can be accessed by the computers on site) why even have it connected to internet and more then one or two computers that always have several guards using it. if u want it to be secure then air gap it. simple answer really.

Typically the officers carry keys that work for the doors inside the module or pod. They usually open/lock cell doors and shower rooms. A control center operator would unlock the main module door. In an emergency situation, the control center operator could lock out the module and have master control of the entire module. The officers can only use keys at this point. Also, a lot of modules will have a "vestibule" which is two doors stacked. This prevents people from running and it means they have to get past two doors to get out of the module. The system we used was downloaded onto the computers. Think of like installing Windows or something. You'd have to have that exact same install file to access it, as well as wires leading to your computer. It's impossible to "hack". Source: I worked in corrections.
