10th or worse. I am all for Amorim to stay in the long term, but this attitude will get him sacked December into his second season. He needs an overhaul. This current regime (Glazernomics 2.0) is not going to help him. He needs to adapt for the short term with patch fixes that don't stray too far from his gameplan, but the overhaul he is trying is doomed for failure and the players WILL NOT (proven) work for him.

Ronaldo basically saying “He’s got his UEFA B, he should know what to do” winds me up. We’ve been playing like this for almost 10 years, can we just suck up the poor results and give this manager some time to do what he needs to do. Who cares if we suffer for another few months, we’re used to it and it’ll pay off in the long run 🤦🏾♂️

We have not been playing this bad for 10 years. Fighting for top four and struggling to stay out of a relegation fight are not the same. I know United fans have unrealistic expectations for the team, but saying the team should be in the top half of the league is the bare minimum.
@GramdalfFGC5 күн бұрын
For the people saying Amorim should change his system? Are you mad? Do you just want us to keep doing this year in year out? Constantly playing bad an any attempt to force a new system is met with “just go back” because we can’t handle being shot for a bit? You’re literally extending your own pain to win games now. We aren’t going down, so fuck it, otherwise no squad will ever learn a new system and you’ll see a team play in the CL and say “why can’t we do that” without realising if we fucking tried you’d be asking him to change his system less than 4 months in.
@terence.pereira5 күн бұрын
Not mad. He shouldn't change his system, but if he eventually figures out that these players cannot (or do not) adapt to his current system (he has said this many times), forcing it onto them is also not the best way forward. It will simply put him in a position of weakness. Ultimately he is responsible for results, NOT players (at least the way the ownership will see it)

Ronaldo is NOT saying we should win just because we’re United. He’s also not saying Amorim should change systems. They literally, all three of them, say that Amorim needs to stick to his guns, but that INEOS needs to back him. Let’s not get so panicky ourselves we can’t hear what the Paddock lads are saying. They back the manager, they back the system, the want the ownership to back the manager and system. What they do NOT back at the moment is the players on wages and that can’t be arsed to put in a shift. They aren’t slagging them off, “sell the lot of them!” They are saying to bring reinforcements in, get rid of those that need getting gone (Rashford, Casemiro, Antony if possible, etc.). Bring SOMEONE in this window: we need a striker (even on loan); we desperately need wingbacks.

You absolutely can and should blame INEOS. They forced Amorim’s hand and made him come with the now or never offer. This season should have been a write off as you say, but it should have been under a lame duck coach like ten Hag. The players and player power have been the issue since the Woodward regime started offering new contracts after one good performance. Every overpaid underachieving player needs to be sold and the microscope will be on recruitment over the next few windows.

Huge clubs like United have the momentum of an oil tanker. When they are going in the right direction this is great. It instills belief and makes recruiting and integrating new players much easier. It also insulates you against the occasional mistake. However, when you are going in wrong direction that momentum works against you. To start with it covers up the now numerous mistakes and then when you finally realise you are heading for the rocks it’s very hard to stop or change direction. The next few years are going to be tough.

With hindsight would it have been better if Amorin had been allowed to join us at the end of the season like he wanted? Ruud would have been playing 4 at the back like they are used to and may be winning more games and have us higher up the league than we are at the moment, Ruebon would have then had a full pre season with them as well as having a chance to bring some new signings in who he thinks could do the job. On the minus side he wouldn't already know who the dead legs are like he is finding out at the moment so it would have taken even longer to get rid of them... ?

FOR THE SIXTH TIME... saying the same old shit. "He needs time", "He needs players that fit his system", "in 2-3 years he'll have been able to build the right squad and train them on his system" How did that work out the last 5 times lads? Are we still waiting on the process? How about... hiring a manager... that ACTUALLY FITS the squad???? Incremental changes and improvements instead of tearing it up and throwing away BILLIONS of investment in players and literally years of development and training. POINTLESS. How are we talking about selling our best youth players to fund signings for a manager who is so clearly the wrong fit? Garnacho, Mainoo, Rashford, do yourselves a favour and run away, go find clubs that will actually appreciate you. I'll follow my golden boys and fuck this team off if that's the way we're going. How are we here again? How are INEOS this naive?

I understand the worry at how things are going. I feel it myself. I wonder though, if in a season or 2 we're going to be looking back on now so differently? There's been a lot of upheaval at the club going back to Greenwood and Ronaldo, then the takeover polava, the uncertainty around Ten Hag, his eventual sacking and now Amorim's totally different system and style of play. When giants make big strides it tends to cause chaos. Hopefully when things settle down, the chaos of this past few years seems a distant memory and given a couple of windows, hopefully we see this new board show their worth and enough players come in and leave that we start to see big improvements on the pitch. Need to remember as well, most of our best players are kids and most of our experienced players are the fundamental problem at the club. Its an awful position to be in Its going to take time to get rid of them and like Amorim said, we're going to suffer. Could be a relegation battle this season, mid table next season then a mighty leap to challenging in 2028, who knows. One of a thousand possibilities

Being a United player in the Premier League is like nothing else. Every “ small “ team you play at Old Trafford treats it like it’s a cup final. Every away match means a “ small “ team is desperate to humiliate you in front of their own fans. Every game is virtually a cup final for the opposition , so that’s how it has to be for United. Some players relish that challenge , some dread it. Recruitment at United has to build this into their assessment of any player.

If United sack Amorim even if you get relegated or just avoid relegation then United genuinley are in for a long term battle in bottom half. Not his team, not his players and hes shown he can compete at the top, the majority of these players HAVE not got that credit in bank esepcially in united shirt. Amorim feels like the right guy at the wrong time. As a neutral i genuinely hope he gets time as i like him and i think if he stays at united for 3-5 years he will build something special. But he needs to finish getting the dead wood out that ETH started and get his own players in. I do wonder how long til we see likes of Amass, Obi-Martin, Fletcher etc cos they are all technically good and as seen with Colllyer at least they fucking run around and give 110% I will say that the EPL compared to years gone by is closer in terms of quality from top to bottom than it may have ever been, this means we are seeing teams like Forest, Bournmeouth etc getting huge results consistently. Add in Forests case they played the game of FFP/PSR. Signed a shitload of quality, paid the fine and stayed up with a point deduction and now still have majority of all them players they signed.

United have spent loads of money and gone backwards. Why assume it would get any better? United might be better off just waiting for these signings to prosper as they mature. Yoro, Mainoo, Garnacho, Hojlund. These are all young players. They should improve to some extent anyway. Garnacho is likely to leave, though, I suppose.
@ACEPodcastNation4 күн бұрын
@Ligerpride I do agree to certain extent mate though I'd argue the 1st window under INEOS was better. De Ligt, Yoro, Zirkzee I think all capable of contributing short and long term under Amorim but of course United fans have had fingers burnt historically by the way they have spent money. I think I'm in the minority and feel that Hoijland will come good. I just believe they almost need to get him to stop trying to drop in as much and link up play or compete in aerial duels with central defenders, he's shown that his finishing his very good generally and he's quick, his strengths at least to me seem to be more running in behind or the down the channels. Again maybe I'm in the minority but I don't think United are like 8 or 9 signings away from getting it right, I think you need 1 genuine quality wingback, 1 no.10 that suits his system and probably a keeper(in the long term) and a no.9 whose ready now which allows you to utilise Hoijland more as a young player. Hoijland, Yoro, Mainoo, Garnacho(if he stays) can be dripped in and out with less pressure then. In Mainoos instance I feel he just looks knackered, like he's been overplayed. Do you think Amorim will or should utilise the young lads between now and end of season to see how they cope and if they are ready or no? Specfically Kakonkie(sp?), Fletcher, Amass, Obi-Martin etc

Having 2 games per week, has been the biggest problems since Amorim arrived. He has hardly gotten training sessions to infuse his tactics to the team. I feel he should just give up on playing the first team (or players he thinks they are going to be involved in the future) for Europa/FA cup. Play the players second in line (which might help find new players in the club). This will allow him more trainings with his first team and help him give more answers for the next transfer window.

the system is just a new excuse we was doing crap with 4 at the back, so why are we constantly talking about the system??, teams are drilled well and get managers who fit their plying style. we are the only clubs that keep changing styles with the managers. ten hag came from ajaz plying a high press possession based football and he went to counter attack at united? he said himself, This team doesn't have plyers to play possesion, proof is that we can't make 2 yard passes, and we can't control the games erik tried to build a team and for whtever reason ither signed the wrong playrs I.e not enough scouting was done or plyers just can't handle the pressure. it's the same with amorim these players only perform wen they are expected to lose. asoon as expectation is to win we lose and make mistakes. however stick by amorim we slowly need to find the correct profile of players. young fast and who will shed blood n swet for this club and system. far too long have we bought older plyers and it's are own fault for offering silly contracts. btw how has kravatschelia gone for 59mill to psg and we bought anthony for 80mill? and mount for 60mill proof we have been run wrong all over. these plyrs have got plenty of managers sacked so it's not the system or the manager for now.

We're not worse than Celtic! They're shit and just play in a pub league (although cue us to struggle vs Rangers this week!!!). We're also better than AC Milan and Ajax.

Its still a v.good opportunity for him even in this mess. The guy was happy with West Ham in the summer.

Amorim inherited a mid table team mid-season. Any manager deserves at least a season with a summer transfer window/full pre-season to be under scrutiny imo.

Club are pathetic. On one hand we’re all fed up with Marcus as he exhibits all the characteristics of a player who’s been mentally and physically over burdened with responsibility. Meanwhile we’re doing the exact same shit to Mainoo and scratching our heads as to what’s going wrong with him.

2 very important points raised here: 1, The low confidence and bad feeling around United & Old Trafford. 2, The way United see value in players because of the strategy which the board comes up with. Both of these 2 things have been exacerbated under Ratcliffe and INEOS. They think they're being smart when they're actually making it worse by buying what they think is a "valuable asset" that will appreciate or has a lot of potential, but they don't know where or how that player gets into the manager's team. It's a confused mess at the moment and it's easier to play against the better teams because the team has to hang on to what they've got against anyone in this league. You probably have to go down as far as league 1 to find teams we can just turn up and win against. Recruitment that's the thing that needs to be better. Ratcliffe has just thrown his toys out of his pram after wasting loads of time and money on Ashworth. I think that shows how Ratcliffe is never going to be a success in football, regardless of FFP or PSR or whatever football isn't business and Ratcliffe may understand it slightly better than Avram and Joel, but not by much. GLINEOS OUT

Bring in a new manager mid season with no time to teach his football style. Ragnick kept losing when he took control. The culture and players who can only play one style are rhe issue. It will take a few seasons to fix

Midfield is shit. I think everybody thaught Casemiro was going to be a beast if you look at his experience. Eriksen is also done. Mainoo nothing special.Ugarte can only defend.We have no creative midfielders apart from Bruno. Dalot and Mazraoui arent wingbacks. Very difficult if you can play only one system.

If I was Amorim I would have called Ineos’s bluff and stayed at Sporting til end of the season. He was building a really successful season there with good chance of more trophies. If Ineos really wanted him they could have got him in the summer. Instead he’s come into this unwinnable situation and will probably come out of it with his reputation damaged

Amorim has failed.. hasnt improved our balance, we create next to 0 chances. Historical, 7 out of 10 managers improve results with whatever system. Glassnar last year took them up levels, chelsea have won champions league with 2 managers brought in mid season. Amorim has failed!!! In terms of changes, I'd change personnel. Try amass at lwb, play either a deeper or a higher line go to 2 defensive pivots. Ugarte & collyer to add more energy, I'd use chido for 10 mins at the end.. just use the fact that he's unknown to create more chaos.

So some people think playing his system is right and still playing his system with 2 in the middle of the park and one upfront is the answers . I will tell you know he can buy who every he likes 250million worth of players , but as long as he plays 2 in the middle and one up front its not going work. Fact . Wake up and smell the coffee

I don’t think United will go down, but titles have been won from behind by bigger margins, so relegation isn’t completely out of the picture and if they continue to play like this it’s by no means out of the question

The problem United have (it's a big problem) is that if they are struggling to get a result against the worst teams in the league at home, with a near record low points tally, then there are no matches where a win is likely. If we were to start a full season again tomorrow, I'd fancy United to be really in a fight to stay up. They should pick up enough points to remain safe but if they don't beat Ipswich then there could be problems. We'd have played 2 of the 3 weakest teams home and away already at that stage.

We are where we belong. Take away the inflated transfer fees and wages, these players are not that good. Bruno is the exception. Amad and Mainoo have potential, they would struggle to start in most top teams. The tide has turned in the premier league and we've fallen behind due to poor recruitment and scouting. Teams like Brighton are ahead of the curve and thats embarrassing. This is a league that requires players that can run and are press resistant. We dont have that. Amorim isn't a problem. He is tactically on point and if he throws that away because we have a squad full of square pegs in round holes, he might as well just resign.

Old habits die hard. United need to just forget about the result, take the hits, let it all fall down, and only start the rebuild once the dust has settled.

He's trying to get a tune out of players that can't do what he wants. At what point do you accept they can't do it and try something else? Because doing the same thing with the same players and expecting something different is insanity. If it is the players then the answer is get new players right? No. We can't afford new players. You think Ineos are going to sign a whole new team in the summer? Not happening. We are skint. So if the current players aren't up to it and we can't buy new ones the only option is to use a system that these players can win games in. Amorim refuses to do that. He won't change. So we are stuck with the crap players we have and a manager with one way of playing. There is only one way that ends...... When Amorim came in we were 4 points off top 4. Now where are we? In a relegation fight. There is only one way that ends.. If he wants to be the manager next season then great but that could be in the championship given our current league form. He has no plan B and INEOS' track records with all their sporting assets is atrocious. Top top managers are flexible and pragmatic to get the best out of the players they have. I like Amorim. His honesty is refreshing but you don't win games being a honest manager. You win games by using a system that gets the best out of the players you have. Now he has thrown the whole team under the bus by publicly saying they are worst united team in history.. That's the words of a man running out of time. Its a shame for him. But he's been handed an awful hand. Should have left RVN in charge until the summer then appointed Amorim with time to drill his system. But then INEOS aren't the brightest people as their track record at United and all their other sports assets shows.

I disagree. We won’t get relegated even if he doesn’t change the system. Luckily there are three teams worse than us in the league. And I think we will sign players in the summer- not enough to make us title challengers, but hopefully enough for top 6. Then we keep building. All United fans talk about needing to show patience. Now is the time to actually show it. We are shit. Take it. It will get better.

Around a year ago I asked the club directly if it intended to address the poor atmosphere inside the club and to be fair, they acknowledged it by saying I will be happy to see the new and exciting plans soon to be introduced which will enhance match day atmosphere! I’m still waiting 😂🤦🏻♂️😝. We’ve lost our club to the Americans, the tourists, even Davos. Sitting in the south stand all i hear is jibba jabba bunga bunga paloni. I’m almost relieved to hear a French 🇫🇷 accent. Relegation would be just a footnote. We’ve already lost our club.
