Geez, none of you would have survived the old Tomb Raider games, the puzzles were much harder. These puzzles are easy, (and mostly non fatal by comparison). So far this is more annoying, but I am getting the bug of the lift not coming.

Pain in the arse of a level! One tyhing I really hate about the new TR games is the way the controls can be so frustrating! Having to repeat the same bit over and over again because you times a jump wrong or the controls won't respond to take Lara UP the frigging rope and now down!

Thanks. This puzzle is not challenging in a clever way, just challenging in a stupid "can you hit jumps perfectly" way. Getting up the rope suspended over the middle of the puzzle seems to have a 50/50 chance of just forcing you to slide back down.

Actually, when you jump on a rope, if you push in the direction you want Lara to go, she will stop sliding and climb up the rope. Game dynamics are not well explained, but it's not random. Having said that, with that particular jump, you need to jump to the right a bit, as the point where Lara will automatically let go is not very far away on the downward side, so by the time the animation of her grabbing and auto sliding is finished, she may let go before you get a chance to interrupt her.

Even more so than the utterly obnoxious boats puzzle where the winder can get stuck underwater, it’s dependant on a game mechanic that’s never explained or mentioned at all. You can literally go through the entire game never knowing this is a thing.

Not quite what I did, when i got to the second crank, after I raised the second elevator up, I just ran straight across and parkored off the top of the lower of the two first elevators, no need to go back to ground level
