It is difficult to raise funds to stay in an unreached region if its currency is stronger than your home country's currency. I say this as an African. I contacted a missions agency and they expected me to raise an extremely large amount of money per month which not even the highly qualified people in my country make! But I know God will make a way.

There is a rising global missions force from Global South countries like yours. I'm proud that you're seeking to reach the unreached. Yes, those stipulations about how much you ought to raise are often outdated and one-sided. Don't let others' determinations about budget deter your heart for the lost!

I agree. "Sleeping giants" in the Global South is a perfect example. In my country, Brazil, there are about 60 million evangelicals, but less than 0,5% is able to speak English (I am still learning). Other data, about 45 thousand Brazilians (between Catholics and Evangelicals) are serving overseas. This number is nothing compared to the potential of the Brazilian missionary force. If we think only about Evangelicals, only 20 thousand Brazilians is serving overseas. Perspective is a great ministry, but we have much more happing around the country from local churches. Steve said something VITAL, in countries like Brazil, Nigeria, Filipinas, etc, we have many Christians ready to go worldwide to serve in hard places, but the support to send these missionaries is almost inexistent.

i got confused on my conferences in one of my comments. I was describing the Global Mobilization Consultation in Brazil this past December. Yes, we had at least 350 mobilizers there, but we didn't have reps there from 150 countries. We had about 40-45 countries represented. Sorry for my misinformation!!!
