When we had those few nice days up here in Minnesota my new bay seeding started to pop up then it froze and slowed that down. It’s still growing just slower. The neighbor had the anhydrous bar out and I think they knocked a couple hundred acres out. Hopefully winters done now.

I live in west central MN & we finally had the last of the snow melt in the fields. We still have snow in & around the groves & In some ditches. No heat wave here either with temps in the 40's for the next several days.

Sorry to hear about the bottom, but yes last year was dry and you both were able to harvest it! I just heard :) Dubuqoue IA was flooding. What does this mean for the elevator? And i guess the barges will have to wait until the river settles. But will there be enough water to transport grain during harvest?

From too low for barges to too high for barges - ah, the old Mississippi. Hate locust...lost a front tractor tire to one... too many to get them out so had to buy a new one.
@karlrovey Жыл бұрын
And in Chester, IL, probably too high for the trucks to get to the mill (which is on the Mississippi to allow for barge shipping). Western Oklahoma could use some of that water (first time getting more than a quarter inch of rain in nearly two months yesterday).

Neighbors have a cow that knows how to get stuck inside their bale feeder! So far we have had to go and lift it off her 4 times. Too bad you couldn't get out there with a boat and clean all the floating crud off before the water drops. Less clean-up later.

Ryan, maybe when your drone gets all better you can film some "behind the scenes" videos on what it takes to do all the great drone shots. Just a thought while things are slow.
@karlrovey Жыл бұрын
In Chester, IL (well south of where you are and the home of Popeye the sailor), the Mississippi floods the access to the flour mill (and likely the pits as well) so that trucks can't access the elevator portion of the mill. I believe they can still load and unload into train cars and barges during floods. I bet they're going to be flooded about a week or two after this video was recorded.

Your wire? Don’t loop it, it makes a weak spot. Over lap it, squeeze in the middle with pliers and start wrapping it as tight as you can like your doing it in a corner post. It won’t ever come loose and won’t break.
