I have extra love for this episode. As someone from the South, we get a lot of sh*t about our "unhealthy" cuisine. But you can see the history of our food in this show... some out of necessity and survival when we couldn't afford better, some out of convenience due to the hour we got out of work... but all this history is being passed down by some lovely folks. Glenda looks like a woman I was raised around, just pure joy. Thanks for coming back to the States and focusing on the South, Sonny.

It might be their version, but chicken and waffles has been around for basically as long as the colonies. It's over 400 years old, it was a Pennsylvania Dutch invention.
