First 6 seconds it sounded like “Monday Morning“ by The Holy Modal Rounders. If you take requests, that´s a song it would be great to hear you play sometime. Peter Stampfel´s early banjo-playing is great!

Nice pull. I've never learned/played that one but I'll put it on my (ever-growing) banjo todo list !

Great stuff...would love to be able to keep that driving rhythm going in my playing...👍

focus on the rhythm rather than the specifics of the tune first., Play it through where you just keep up with the rhythm frailing until that is nailed in your head, then go after the specifics of the tune, Learn to sing this as a song make up the words, Divide and conquer, Dont expect to learn the whole thing by listening to the video once, I doubt Ryan learned this by watching someone play it once and go through it once. I played this song in jams on banjo and guitar for decades, but I had the complete wrong idea of the particulars of lead playing until a month or two ago when I was taking a lesson to play this tune in the drop C tuning, not frailing, but playing 2 finger. Give it the time and you will succeed.

@@writerrad ^^^that is HUGE. Thank you for saying that. Focus on the “tune” or the fundamentals of it, then get melodic later, if you want! That whole idea has been paramount to me as an aspiring banjoist. 😋 thanks, Ryan!
