There was a lot tensions between Uganda and Rwanda until Gen Muhoozi went to.Rwanda to meet Gen Kagame.Millions of Rwandese have been moving to Uganda since the first genocide in 1949,1959 and 196o,s. The Rwandese had generally intergrated into every facet of Ugandan society. They have intermarried into every Ugandan ethnic group in addition to Tanzania and Kenya. Many jokes were made about Rwandese in Uganda. The name "munywarwanda" was used in a derogatory manner. In fact every westerner ie Banyankole,Batoro ,Bakiga, were refered to as Banyarwanda. In fact westerners in the army in the fourth battalion King African rifles (Before indipendence )and later first battalion Uganda rifles (after indipendence )were referred to as "Tonglo pipa" good for nothing apart from working in the rubbish pits in the barracks. They were seen as unfit for military duties. Not of until the Rwanda and Congo wars. However,I must say that Uganda gave Rwanda the best in terms of Education, health care,,and etc. They had an opportunity to join Museveni,s Patriot front and later UPDF which gave them an edge during the Rwanda wars. The problem still pops up.During the Congo war Rwandese and Uganda soldiers fought in Central Congo.Later tensions developed over accusations of support for rebel groups wanting to overthrow Rwandese Government. My take for this is that you should treat this as a separate incident. In fact in future you will still go back to Rwanda.Tensions have greatly eased .Such lessons can be drawn from every country in the world. One incident should not pull you down

I catch your drift Josey. That is a real shitty experience. Some people have no self reflection. These kind of people treat others badly and think that's normal.

I also experienced treatment in Harare, Zimbabwe. Unfortunately I just found out the man and mum moved to New Zealand. I would have named the businessman and his place in order to caution other travellers ahead of their travel plans.

I remember ‘Mrs AfroTiger’ went through something similar and went ballistic online. The ferocity of her vent actually made me unsubscribe. The sad part is I actually generally love her spirit and demeanour so I was in turn upset at being blindsided. At least you maintained some sort of composure. My advice to you is simple: until we know the FULL story, we ought not to judge. Even then, we should proceed with caution. In your case, it could be that the lady was under duress to act as she did - even perhaps a life-threatening one. We just never know. She was at least pleasant to you directly and even sought to remain ‘friends’ at the end of the unfortunate situation - reasons which she obviously could not divulge to you. Never ever judge if possible and remember there’s almost always a method in an apparent madness. Just leave all your genuine fights to GOD!!! I’ve always said you are more blessed than you imagine (which is why nothing was lost in the shenanigans)!! Stay blessed.

I had an Air BnB in Freetown for a whole month and one day the owner called (he lives in the USA) and asked me if I can let another woman stay in the other bedroom for a few days. I was supposed to have the whole apartment and it was way overpriced for what I got to begin with. My wife was with me , but she stayed with her mother sometimes, (she's from there), and he wants me to allow a strange woman to stay in the other bedroom? I said "NO" and then he wanted a great review when I left. My wife couldn't believe he would ask me such a thing, it was outrageous. He wasn't happy with my review. Too bad for him.

I think she was jealous of you personally. Maybe she felt you are pretty and a "threat" to her. Some people are irrational like that. The fact that she was trying to match you with everything you said..ie : She's been to Uganda ,and shes been to the place you are from etc. She sounds a bit bipolar too!. Sheesh.

Did her attitude change when she heard you are from Uganda. These two governments do not see eye to eye.

You forget one thing, tensions between Rwanda and Uganda have never died, every time you cross Rwandan border as Ugandan, you are monitored from day one till you live, for your info Rwandese hate Ugandans, yet they literally live on resources of our country, let me tell you if you Uganda says no entry by Rwandese to Uganda you would register massive suicides, i hope you know it, many live in your region of Tooro. I think they have phobia on Ugandans
