I had one pair of slicks where if the valve stems were put in the same place on both sides, the car shook like hell. If I stuck them 90* apart, it was smooth as glass. Also, Tony needs an Emmy an Oscar and a Grammy for his camera work. :)

Tip after years of racing a manual shift. Watch your video back and watch your body and your seat on your run. A racing specific seat may help some.

This is like going back into the passed. My Mav was also a 69 1/2 which and my second muscle car cause in reality my first was a 69 Road Runner that I never got to finish and my Dad ended up selling it. So he fell bad and that’s when we went on a hunt were I found my 69 1/2 Maverick. So My Mav was the first muscle car I owned in High School. It’s funny people argued with me about a Maverick being sold and built in 1970. But the way you know if for some of you whom don’t know anything about Mavericks is the column ignition switch on a 70 is on column and the bottom ignition switch is on a 69 1/2.

Lived in Denver for 30 years. I raced for 10 years out of Bandimere in Div. 5 back when the Super Comp class was started. What do you mean one of the last events at Bandimere? That track is Denver!
@ZackR2605 Жыл бұрын
It's one of the last events there because it's closing and being sold but the current owners are looking to build a new facility somewhere else with more room
@lencac7952 Жыл бұрын
Hi Zack: That bums me out. I spent a lot of time there back in the late 70's through the mid 90's. Myself and my business partner raced Super Comp. The pits were dirt and the tower was a tiny structure. Remember, talking to Johnny Bandimere many, many times. He would wonder the pits talking to racers when we were delayed because of rain. Between racing and hanging out at Red Rocks Park on the other side of the ridge probably spent more time there than I care to admit to. When the Mile High Nationals came there it was called Thunder on the Mountain. And that's no kidding because even though I lived in Aurora when the fuel cars raced it could be heard. Kind of reticent about hearing it's closing ☹

We have nitrous, but didn’t run it because I would have to add an extra 200lbs to the car per the rules of the class. This is also the first event I’m running my car at after a severe injury to my right arm, so I was taking it slow.

Tess,, amazing as this may sound when it rains you need windscreen wipers. Scrutineering for these events should make sure washers and wipers actually work. If not go home.We hear the b/s about roadworthy cars,, very few actually are. And legality is another thing again. I will ignore that but not unroadworthy shitboxes That plastic button goes the other way in the glass.

@billytucker; @billytucker1019; another person which is not only ignorant of the requriements within these Drag N Drive events with driving paths, also about GPS which is connected to a satellite with extremely precise accuracy everywhere worldwide [ my expertise is within satellite communications system development, design, implementation,etc.]. your issues with location accuracy are the specific programs, application S/W, which also use the cellular-mobile triangulation location, along with the various GPS electronics within the device - perhaps their S/W design, implementation places cellular--mobile location as primary along with other lacking. All advanced aircraft have used GPS within their navigation as primary since its development, implementation, with the military leading the way for over 40-50 years. Good Luck with Your devices, applications, use.
