You can just walk up and purchase the petit train ticket, they seem to have them coming and going continuously. When we went, the shuttle buses to the city were right in front of the ship so a 30 second walk. When you want to come back, you just go to where the buses drop you off, which is right near the fort that we went to last. Not sure what the 8 min walk would be? Highly recommend exchanging your money before you leave home either from your bank or a currency exchange place that is local to you, because usually their exchange rates/fees will be less than if you do it in the airport or in the destination once you arrive

It's always funny to watch video of foreign people, of a place I know very much (I live closed to Marseille, actually between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. I worked and made a part of my studies in Marseille, too). And How they see this place, their gaze on it. Marseille seems so much more beautiful in yours eyes than in the reality. In fact, to me, Marseille have the potential to be beautiful and important as much as other major cities in France. But too dirty, too much incivilities, too poor (the state of some buildings is scary), to much corruptions. How the city grow up in La Joliette (near the port) is a nonsense architectural when you compare it to Confluence in Lyon. Too poor artisticly for the 2nd city of France, etc.I hate to go in Marseille, the circulation is horrible, etc. So I see only the defects. And strangely, I want to visit this Marseille wich doesn't exist.
@MissMooreStyle Жыл бұрын
I can see what you mean about marseille and I definitely didn’t think it was the most beautiful city but to me there was something kind of beautiful about its shabbiness. To me it was just interesting to see something so different than Paris, which up until this trip was the only other place I’d been in France. It is a bit of a rough place but I liked it. The day we had there was probably enough so it’s not necessarily a place I feel like I need to go back to but it was interesting!

@@MissMooreStyle You miss after Fort Saint Jean, the Mucem, and like you say in your video, la" cathédrale de la Major" (very very beautiful, I prefer it to Notre Dame de la Garde). Near "le quartier du Panier", and at the other side of Fort Saint-Jean, "le Palais du Pharo". The littles island of the Frioul, and "Chateau d'If" (wich inspired the comte of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas) in front of "Le Vieux Port". If you like architecture "la maison du fada" (Cité radieuse of Le Corbusier), and of course "le Parc des Calanques". And other place like Friche Belle de Mai (artistic place, and roof-top), Vieille Charité, Parc Borély... But For sure, Provence is so much more than Marseille. Aix en Provence of course, near to Marseille. La Ciotat..., and to me Arles, the most beautiful city of Provence, I'm in love with this city. Avignon (Le Palais des papes), and a lot of small cities and villages : Les Baux de Provence, with "La carrière de Lumière", a must have, projection of paint, art, etc. Saint Rémy de Provence, Gordes. The island of Porquerolles. La Côte bleue (beaches and Calanques), La Camargue, the fortress city of Aigues Mortes, Gordes, Isles sur la Sorgue, Lourmarin, etc., etc. I live there, and don't have enough time in lifetime to see all the beautifull places in Provence. And in France too. Everywhere I go in France, I always see beautiful places, landscape, nature or cities. And I don't say that because I'm french and chauvinist. Just because, to me, It's such a chance to live there and be surrounded by beauty and history, art, architecture, that I tend to forget in everyday life like the French people in general.
