That's such a pretty one, Danny! Thank you for sharing. It's just amazing how many orchids are available to us I know there are over 25K and that numbers keeps going up. It boggles my mind. I think I have only 5 types in my collection! :-)

Good job Danni!! I have a question when the roots of an orchid are dried out or the tip of the root is dried out, Can you cut these and put alcohol on the tips for sterilization also or just cinnamon?

I buy the same typ of orchid it was on sale. Idividet it in tree pieces.

hi, Danni. love your videos. I am about to purchase my first orchid. the phaelenopsis bellina. I saw yours and I am in love. I saw one on eBay that is called a LD Eagle Marley and they are asking $150 for it. Is it so rare that it's worth it or you think I can find it elsewhere? I checked Shwerters and they don't have it. I haven't checked anywhere else yet. I wanted your opinion first. Please answer it's my first time posting. :)

JeanetteJeanette11 Of course Danny will want to reply herself, but just seeing your comment I wanted to speak up and say this: You probably want to buy cheap orchids to start, or you could waste a lot of money killing some really expensive ones. Buy ones similar to the one you want that are cheaper and make sure that you learn to care properly for them, and maybe after a year or so when you feel confident you can spend more money on a more expensive plant. For example, I wanted to try paphiopedilum orchids, and some rare and beautiful ones can cost hundreds of dollars! Oftentimes, they're over $50. However, to make sure I know to care for them, I bought similar ones for $7 and I am using them for my "guinea pigs." That's just my two cents! I personally wouldn't buy expensive orchids as my first orchid, but what you do is totally up to you!

JeanetteJeanette11 Hi girls, I agree with Astrid, don't spend a fortune on orchids that you don't have enough experience with. It is ok to try out new things ofcourse, but not with 150 bucks :) plus, I would advise you to not throw away that much money on an ebay plant, if at some point you will be interested in very rare species, buy them from reputable nurseries. A lot of the times on ebay plants are not what they are advertised to be, so do your research first. As far as bellina goes, I think it's an easy orchid really, but it should not cost that much, find a nursery that has it for a decent price, maybe just a bit more than your usual Phal, but certainly shouldn't exceed 30 dollars in my opinion. Schwerter has a very rare white bellina at 30 dollars more or less, and the normal bellina is 15 dollars more or less so, these are the prices you should be looking for :)

The phal bellinas I usually see in the US cost from $40-50 US, but I've never seen a bellina for $15 Where'd you find that price, Danny? :) I'll add that there are a handful of reputable sellers on ebay in the US. I have purchased from pupsi_dog (Lucky Girl Orchids), and I know Kawamoto Orchids has an excellent reputation and good customer service. But otherwise, stay suspicious!! If you're not in the US, I can't recommend any ebay vendors... but if you have access to Schwerter my god I would never buy from anyone else hahaha!!
