I'm sorry I missed this earlier in the day! Regarding neofinetia falcatas being difficult to bloom, I recommend purchasing the magenta-colored Shutennou variety or the standard neo (the furan, not the fuki-ran). The shutennou in particular is quite vigorous and I've been able to re-bloom mine. I live in the northeastern US and left mine outside for an entire summer, into late autumn before the first frost. OrchidWeb has several videos on neos and recommends leaving them outside all summer. If you can, try to give it full morning or evening sun and then have it shaded for the rest of the day.

Regarding the smell I have such a disappointment with Phalanopsis Kaoda Twinkle which I have purchased from Orchid Garden in Poland because of the chocolate smell and it doesn't smell at all!

I have a harlequin phal that had a double spike last year, one of the nodes (below all of the blooms) started to grow. I cut the other spikes off after blooms fell. Nothing has happened with the node that began to spike. But today when I checked her she has 2 new spikes emerging!!!! ???should I leave last year's spike or cut it, to give more energy for the 2 new emerging spikes???

Hi Dani. I have a problematic orchid and i was hoping that you could give me advice. I have a new vanda orchid. But her roots are very thin and dry. They are actually green. It's an old plant but it doesn't have big massive root system. Do you have any suggestion why they feel so dry and why are they thin? How can I help her?

Hi, you can wash it off, it might actually be salt buildup, it happens in clay pots :)

I have no sense of smell (due to a nose issue I've had for years, not bc of coronavirus), so the fragrance discussion is so weird to me. Like talking about color to a colorblind person haha Every time you say an orchid is fragrant I'm like "hmm. Probably couldn't get it in case it annoys my bf... But if it was just me... I could get that one that smells bad"

Hi Miss Orchid Girl, oh god I miss your live stream, I live in the Philippines by the way, and maybe someone already ask you this, but I would like to know if what hapenned to your phalaenopsis orchids with orchid fleck virus? Did you still have them? And how are they? I have a phalaenopsis aphrodite infested with spidermites and now has an orchid fleck virus..The truth is I am still a bit afraid to try your solution for spider mites because of the step I have to consider the amount of damage the mites done in the orchid, I think that affects the amount of baby oil I use in the solution. I tried to message you in facebook, and I would like to thank you personally there if it's possible.. thanks and stay safe.
