Hey guys! Just reminding you that in the description you will find additional links related to today's video and also links to my Orchid Care for Beginners series, Care Tutorials for Phalaenopsis, Cattleyas, Oncidiums, etc., links to products I use & more! I receive so many comments and messages daily on all my platforms, it is impossible for me to get to all, but I try to link videos on the most common questions in the descriptions of my videos. You can also search for answers on almost ALL orchid related topics by typing in the KZbin search bar 'missorchidgirl' followed by the orchid subject you want to learn more about! I have many many videos and I think you'll find a video from me on the subject, just in case I don't get to answer your comment. Thank you! 😘🧡

Love this video of the February Orchids. Just have to tell you that a few years ago I was in Singapore and visited the Orchid gardens on acers of land there were 8,000 different species of orchids in the gardens. You can't imagine my delight. I hated to leave the gardens.

That aerangis is indeed very special despite that horse stable smell. I remember the unboxing. It's amazing it's blooming this year!
Great video as always! I have a huge stand of Papilonanthe teres (side story- it was actually growing natively in my aunt's front yard on a java plum tree, one day the entire plant mass got so heavy that it broke the tree's branch and fell down. She didn't know what to do so she gave it to me and now every spring i get 100+ spikes of it !! 🔥💚).. after seeing your beautiful cross , i am thinking of maybe trying to cross mine with a vandaceous type and then sending the seedpod to the orchid germinating lab in my locality. (downside is.. i have to wait a long time and it's kinda costly 😅)

Hi! such a great video on the first day of February 😍, I vote for the onc. twinkle cream, I love the display! The compact growth makes a great show in a small space. Please make a video on repotting them in self watering and maybe? Your plans for them in summer time 😂

My yellowTiny Twinkle is almost done blooming. A Kathrin Zoch is blooming tinier than last year,it has a very short spike.I guess it got stressed?? A King Akazuki is getting ready to bloom in reddish-pink. My Liodoro is taking it's time but with sunshine on clear winter days, it might bloom this month. I guess it is a popular time for some orchids show themselves in party dresses.

Hello again Danni, I'd also enjoy a video about orchids that bloom more than once a year. The one you are showing in this video is a cattleya that has white flowers with deep purple. I didn't catch the name but you said the summer bloom has more white (I think.) It's gorgeous.
@andreasoilander54073 жыл бұрын
I have the ID for your NoID orange cattleya 'Veronica' from 9:46 in the video, because I have this exact same cattleya too! The ID is: Rth. Young-Min Orange x Rth. Little Fairy. I had ordered from Orchideengarten Karge a Rhyncattleanthe Young-Min Orange, but when it bloomed, I saw that it wasn't it, because the orange one doesn't have red. So I sent a photo to Marei Karge, from Orchideengarten, and she gave me the correct ID. 😊

Hi Danni, I watch your videos when I"m cooking, they lift my mood (I've been struggling with depression) and when I"m up at night because I can't sleep from restless leg syndrome. You are my friend and companion! I have one phal, a mini a friend gave me. Have you ever done a "Home Friendly Orchid" video. I know you have one for beginners but perhaps there are more that aren't for beginners but do well in the home environment. One other thought, a video with photos and your comments on set ups people use at home to succeed with their video's. Do you ever show your outside videos? I'm so glad you are there for us. Jan

Have you ever looked at Hawaiian Wedding Song for an ID for Princess Jackie? I have a Cattleya (Hawaiian Wedding Song "Virgin" x Rosie's Surprise "Darch") and she smells really nice - kind of lemony and sometimes vanilla. I think the scent comes from Hawaiian Wedding Song, and that's a pure white Cattleya that looks EXTREMELY similar to Princess Jackie.

The Frances Fox is so gorgeous, but I love the Cattleya "Veronica", the Brassostele tarantula, the Brascidostele Mystic Maze and the Aliceara Holm's North Star too!!! Too many beauties this month... May I ask if the video with the "orchid of the year 2020" have alrealy been uploaded? I cannot find it... Second question: how is your Meloara doing, Danny? As I wrote, mine lost her blooms, but her two new growths have quadrupled in size in the last two months, so I'm quite satisfied and I really hope to see some flowers next summer

A random question tho, I recently bought miltoniopsis orchid and its old pseudobulb is much lower than its newest one (almost as if the new one grows on top of old). Currently its old bulb is burried and I was thinking to repot it when flowers fall off since the plant looks healthy so far. So should I burry old pseudobulb again when I repot or if not, how do I repot it when their height is so off? Good job, I love your orchids!

@sergiol1143 жыл бұрын
I have an oncidium like this too, its growth pattern is really vertical so I can’t even stabilise them. In the end, I mounted them and it’s doing great because it can climb vertically. Although mounting is not for everyone, it has worked for me personally. Good luck!

Lovely orchid collection! Is it ok if direct sunlight hits the phalaenopsis? All my windows in the apartment face towards the west. I can barely find a spot near the window that doesn't get direct light, so I was wondering if direct sunlight would hurt the plant? The winter is almost over, so the leaves get pretty warm in direct light.

It's pronounced Pereiraara Rapī pát, it's a Thai name written รพีพัฒน์, but I am not sure who the name refers to. At first I thought it refers to Professor Rapee Sagarik, known as the father of Thai Orchidiology, There are several Hybrids and species named after him, but since this one is a newer hybrid (and not the same spelling), I think it might refer to another person, Rapeepat is a somewhat common name.

Hi :), I follow your vids regularly from.... well currently from India. I have two immediate questions- encyclia cordigera var alba...this plant ... should i expect the same dark chocolate cocoa frag that ur encyclia cordigera has?.... do you have any info on this? Secondly, i am planning to buy the siderea japonica..inspired by you!...i just loveeee lemon peel frag.... my most fav.... so i am wondering if my climate is too warm for it?.... its like 40c in peak summer upto 7 or 8 c in peak winter. I sm currently in Kolkata, in the gangetic plains.... we have 3 months of monsoon too. A few interesting info..... we are very close to the orchid areas of India in the Eastern Himalayas.. .. infact most of my nurseries including this current one is located on my same state and pksnts generally get delivered in less than 24hrs and guess what... every flower arrives healthy...Haha...! I have slso just asked them if I can grow the orchid here. Funny that my state of west bengsl has one of the widest temo variations in the world.... with high Himalayas , mt kanchenzonga in the north and the natural orchid areas...ehich i sm visiting this summer to check out the wild orchid and rhododendrons of secret Himalayan valleys...... but in the south we have a tropical sea with mangroves....imagine.... its a huge ecosystem variation..... so am wondering about the plsnt health... Thanks D!
@MissOrchidGirl3 жыл бұрын
Hi, so let's start with 1. I don't have the alba cordigera, but it should have the same fragrance theoretically 2. The sedirea is a cool to intermediate grower, I would not put it outside in summer, but keep it indoors. It's worth a try, but I find it slightly finicky. A more suited hybrid for warm climates that still smells very nice and lemony is Vandopsis (or Phalaenopsis now) Little One. It blooms faster too 😉
