This route is the Missouri west ridge to Elkhead Pass to Mount Belford and on to Mount Oxford west ridge. While this is the most common way to do all three peaks, it is one long and tough day and few hikers accomplish. Start at the Missouri Gulch trailhead at 9,640 feet and climb Mount Missouri's by the northwest ridge route. Then descend this ridge back to 12,620 feet in upper Missouri Gultch and hike the upper part of Belford's Elkhead pass variation to the top of Belford. Traverse over to Oxford, then return to the summit of Belford and descend Belford's Northwest Ridge route back to Missiouri Gulch trailhead.
