A neglected pond is revitalized in the Ozarks. This video explores the process of restoring a pond to its former glory, showcasing techniques and strategies for a thriving ecosystem.
Ep #4! Join us for our latest mini series from our new 575 acre Missouri Ozark's farm as I begin to tackle the severely overgrown and unloved pond on this beautiful Missouri Ozarks property. This will take some time and effort with my Bobcat E42 R2 series mini excavator so I will tackle in sequence for a new mini series, until I get things completed. Join us for the 4th episode of this ongoing Pond reclamation project mini series. This summer I've been clearing all of the decades old growth and woods from around this pond (the house pond) and as you'll see by the size of some of these locust trees it was really overgrown! Since then I've cleared more than half of the wooded overgrowth, built a small swimming/sunning beach and have been letting the slash piles dry up some. So today it's time to burn it down! If you'd like to catch the first 3 episodes here are the video links:

That tank dam looks way better than it did several months back. Keep those brush piles small when you when plan on burning, lot less stress on you for sure.

Dont know if you're going to put any acres into natural regen, but you'll want to control burn it every few years to keep the vegetation managed. And once you remove and thin the overstory and mid story of your woods acres, it will be time to control burn them. So use the dozer to make fire breaks, not to push brush over the edge of the rocks. You did good on this burn, and it gets addictive!!!

Thanks man, it was pretty satisfying for sure :) I will probably get a blower pack for safety and yep I would like to burn all of our fields! But one step at at time.

One thing to note, generally speaking, if you don't burn those big piles of especially downed/cut trees and large limbs, they will tend to make home to alot of snakes in the future. Of course that can be a good thing or not. Snakes love piles of wood.

Keep a land plane on the back of your tractor to drive over flame. Also a 3pt hitch tandem disk does well driving over low flame

I try to burn all of my fields. You do have to be cautious when doing it alone. I good backpack blower is handy to have on stand by in case it ever jumps your fire break. 👍🇺🇸

If you buy a dozer, get a rake for the blade. It will make it much easier to push stuff around without pushing dirt into the pile.

@ If you google root rake for your machine you should be able to find one. At least it will give you one more thing to spend money on 😇. Good luck with your projects.
