I don't know how but in all my years of playing I've never heard that piece. That is without question my next lesson. I could sit and listen to you play all day. Excellent playing my friend. I'm going to listen until that version sinks in. Thanks again.

Well Bob the tone coming from that instrument IMHO is the best of all the videos you've posted.

Excellent 18 ...what about the "prewar guitar"

I would like to know how the tuning was done , a really great piece , done with class ?

That is made in Japan by Suda? It sounds very close in tone to your 36' D18.. very dry, resonant vintage tone/balance. What year was the Suda made? Is the Suda made like a 34-37 D18 with forward shifted scalloped bracing (very light build) and 1-3/4" nut?

Bob - I’m fascinated my this melody and have spent the last two hours messing with it on my guitar. It is a gorgeous melody! Then I went on a search of its history and am appalled by its casual racist origins. It won’t make it on my list.

Use the Johnny Cash Version. It's much cleaner and not racist at all. A little fact,the tune is the state song but the lyrics was never voted as part of the state's song. It was written later.
@MarkTrussellsPage4 ай бұрын
The song underwent revisions due to certain lyrics being deemed racist before it was officially designated as the state song on June 30, 1949.
