I love the bag. And the colors are out of this world. They take me back quite a few years I still have lots of it. I had used them for my Irish Chain quilt.

I started doing this because of Jenny and Sue. My granddaughter played college basketball and we were traveling a lot to her games. I got a surprising amount done in the car. Then she stopped playing and I put it away. Time to get it back out. It is enjoyable to do while watching tv. I started with bigger hexagons, tho. I cut squares on my Accuquilt Go, and then just glued the squares on the hexagon papers.

My hands dont hurt now!!!! I can just keep stitching and stitching and stitching!!!! This was a total game changer for me!!!!

I'm just learning! I cut my first ones with the Small rotary and template but they were a tiny bit too small and I struggled to have enough to turn. But I love seeing them together, and the glue method is my favourite. Gorgeous fabric SD, and that pink turntable is on my wish list!

Made a quilt using EPP in the '70s finished in time for my first baby, At that time we used old greetings cards cut with a craft knife for backing and scissors for the fabric. Also no glue used - tacking/basting stitches used to hold fabric and backing card together. Took a very long time but 3 children and 3 grandchildren have used the quilt. All hand sewn and it's now needing some refurbishment....

Two of my favourite people together, what more could you want? Well, information and that's exactly what I got. I love my sewing machine, Cynthia, but there are times when we can't be together and so I am taking up EPP to fill in those gaps. Sue has convinced me that this is what I should be doing. I am looking on her website to decide what I want to do and get. Thanks for this. Loved it.

I love EPP as a mindless sewing project as you can do it whilst doing something else. I started sewing hexis when visiting my Mom in hospital before she passed. I have continued to do the rosettes in different sizes 1/4" - 3" . Each size is as easy as any others. But the tiny ones need trimming g on the back as can be bulkier. I will applique them onto a background & quilt it as a wall hanging in her memory.

Thanks for the little focus on needles... is the number of the needle, have to do with the length of the needle? If so, is a #15 longer or shorter than an #11 needle... and... one more question? can a person really sharpen a needle in a bar of soap?

@MissouriQuiltCo

As for needle sizes, the higher the number, the thicker the needle. As for the soap trick, it's not actually sharpening the needle, but filling in the rough surfaces on a worn needle so that it pulls through smoother. The link below explains it better, though! www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Blunt-Needle

Apart from the construction method of the hexagons, this is pretty much a copy of fellow Australian quilt designer, Judy Newman’s ‘Dilly Bag’. The Dilly Bag pattern has been around for a few years now and it’s disappointing as an Australian to see such a respected designer as Sue Daley copy a fellow compatriot’s design.
