I have got to stop watching these wonderful tutorials Jenny puts out because I want to make every single quilt and this one is no exception. Like Jenny it would be so much fun putting it together and see it come to life. The fabric she selected for this quilt is beyond words. Just gorgeous on the computer so I know it must be amazing in real life. I will just have to order when I get my present project finished. Thank you Jenny and everyone else who helps you at MSQC. I'm so glad I'm getting to know you guys.

I got my grandmother's sewing machine, books, thread, needles, etc. when she passed away. She taught me to quilt but I was never much interested in sewing until I retired. I used to look through her quilt books thinking I'd never be able to make one of those beautiful pieces of art. Too complicated for me! Your tutorials (and precuts!)make it soooo easy! I adore your tutorials! Keep up the good work!

I just finished up a 4 block x 4 block (approx 30" X 30" as a trial run). I only used part of a jelly roll, Chantilly by Moda, and cut sand color strips from fabric for the 2 1/2" sqs. It turned out great. There is still jelly roll left to make another small quilt top or 2 (Great baby blanket size). I really enjoyed this tutorial and the blocks went together so fast. I did square up the blocks to 8".

Happy Anniversary Jenny and the whole MSQC! I love your tuturials and I would add a hint that the Scrappy four patch method from the snowball four patch quilt would be very handy in here too. If you would sew in a row all the "colored" 5" sqares on 5" wide stripes of the background fabric (here the white one) wouldn't it be great? Just cut in half sew together flipping the white sides and than cut again? Just an idea from far far Germany! God bless you an stay as gorgeous as you are! Gaby

I really love this quilt. But, I don't know if you said what line you used for the first example, the one that looks more like one of Lynn Hagemeir's quilts. That would be the Civil War looking fabric. I prefer scrappy quilts, but that one is gorgeous as well. I also love my 2 ½" ruler from the cruise and the 5"x15". They are my favorite rulers. Jenny i was wondering why you didnt use your four patch shortcut on this tutorial... does it change the size of the block and thus it wont turnout correctly?...

It might change the size of the block if you use the four patch shortcut on this quilt Elizabeth. You might find it easier to do it the way Jenny did in this tutorial.

Beautiful! Another one for my bucket list! What is the name of the fabric that the other quilt is made of? It is beautiful also! I think I'm going to have to get a barrel to put my list in instead of a bucket! lol!

Unfortunately we don't sell this bracelet Pam. Jenny likes to shop at different boutiques when she travels, and this is how she came across this cute bracelet! :)

Another stunning quilt but why didn't you use your "scrappy 4patch" method?
@MissouriQuiltCo
@MissouriQuiltCo 8 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could, you just need to make sure that you have your alternating dark and light! :) Thanks for the reminder!

I was thinking if you did white and pattern and alternate using the scrappy 4 patch method it would come together really fast and scrappy. Glad I saw that someone else thought the same thing. ; ) By the way, this is such a beautiful quilt design, I just LOVE it!

Missouri Star Quilt Company , How many jelly rolls would equate to a charm pack, or how many charm packs would equate to a jelly roll? I am going to google this question, but maybe you will have the answer before I do. I have some nice rolls from Tonga Treats. This might work out well! 😊. I also have some matching charm pack material to go with the Tonga Treat rolls.

Great question GradeBmoviefan! This is a little difficult to answer, because jelly roll strips aren't as wide as 5" squares are, and 5" squares aren't as long as jelly roll strips are. To give a better idea of their size difference, you generally need three 5" squares to make a lap size quilt, and you only need one pack of 2.5" strips to make the same size quilt. I recommend viewing our Precut standardization page, which is very helpful with sizing. You can view this page by clicking on the link below, and please let us know if you have anymore questions or concerns about this! :) blog.missouriquiltco.com/?s=What+can+they+make%3F

can you tell us how many 2.5 solid squares we need and how many 2.5 colored and how many 4.5 squares needed to make this size quilt?
@MissouriQuiltCo
@MissouriQuiltCo 8 жыл бұрын
Not quit sure on the exact amount you'll need with these smaller squares hlponyfarm. But what I estimated is, 2-3 packs of the 2.5" solid squares, and 2-3 packs of 2.5" colored squares, and 1 pack of the 4.5"squares, or the regular 5" squares that we offer. Sorry I couldn't figure out the exact amount, but I hope this at least gets you going on the right direction.

We were just at your birthday days celebration and saw this quilt in person. If anyone has the opportunity to visit Hamilton Missouri it is well worth the trip. We shopped and shopped and shopped. I bought the 5 inch squares to make this quilt but forgot the buy the border fabric. Could you please tell me the name so I can purchase it? Thanks you so much for everything

Yes, absolutely! You'll just need less charm packs, but keep the individual blocks the same size! :)
