Nice video.Micros rocks!!!Yes that's the best way to harvest energy from solar,because when you have string inverter and only one panel is even partially shaded,it will put down whole array!!! Shading is common and especially in winter time,when sun is lower.

will this inverter match to any grid source? meaning of course the national grid, but if that goes down and you switch to an inverter off batteries, now your house has a isolated grid. So now the micro inverters should link again and put power back into that grid. Same if you had to run a generator, the generator would not have to run at full power, extending the life of the fuel. john

I have a question: Let's say the grid goes down with these inverters (they would shut down due to island protection). What would I have to do to convert them to charge a battery bank if the need arises? Nice setup by the way..

Question is can you put up to 1500 watts into a 120vac plug with GFI with an outdoor rated socket. Seems I could run a 1000 watt space heater on the same circuit. If fact It would be a good fit as the difference of 500 watts would go to the grid. That said can I parallel these micro inverters...like plug them into an appropriate power strip.

Hello, I just wanna ask if that "micro grid tied inverter" requires "net metering system" to offset electric bills as an indirect means of saving money through solar PV systems. Moreover, does that equipment prioritize your household loads first and the surplus generated power is fed to the grid? Thanks
@ShyRage14 жыл бұрын
Did you ever get an answer for this?
@priyabratasadhukhan64353 жыл бұрын
Without net metering, you will actually end up paying more for pushing surplus electricity into the grid. Ordinary meters count kWh without considering the direction of flow, so it will add up 1 kWh to the monthly bill when you push 1kWh to the grid from your solar.
@raygale41982 жыл бұрын
@@priyabratasadhukhan6435 Depends on the meter installed. In Australia we have some meters that will run backwards and count down if power is exported. Other meters just do nothing when powerflow is reverse. Smart meters will alarm and send a service call to the supplier.

It has to see existing 120VAC to turn on. So if you have a system in place with active 120VAC it will contribute to the house 120VAC. But why? Just add the panel to your existing system and not have to buy the micro inverter thingie.

Hi Jeff, my friend and I are evaluating this exact 120V unit in Jamaica. It was imported (one unit + the monitoring software and modem) directly from China. He has it deployed on a 280W Poly-crystalline Panel with the following specs : PMax = 280W / VmP = 36.2V / Imp = 7.77A / Voc = 44.5V / Isc = 8.43A. So far the power produced has been fantastic with close to 50KWH produced for the month (hey, its Jamaica..Sunlight is abundant lol). Could this particular model you bought be defective?

Jeff, I noticed on your large array video you went to a different inverter i believe it was an Aims are they a better inverter ? as i'm getting mixed reviews of the inverter in this video. if so what was the specs of the Aims inverter you used on that array in the next video ?, is there any reason you didn't use these inverters on this video on your large trunk'd array in that video ?...Where can i find one, outside of e-bay ? and I want to hook up a 240 Watt mono panel to one of these can i also hook up another panal in paralell with it ? and if so, will i get better benefits ie : more wattage or voltage or will the voltage and wattage stay the same as the brand new 240 watt mono panel i'll be using ? When do you expect to get the micro inverters in stock as i'm going to buy the panel-Inverter-and megawatt meter from you in one package ? Thank you and thanks for the great vids. Pls keep us informed when you get the micro's in stock, as they look like a much more efficient way to go then the 500 watt DC inverter in your other vid. Its pretty obvious streight AC in is more efficient. Best regards, Jon

@shanecook96534 жыл бұрын
Can you add one of these to a system which already has a grid tie inverter? If not, can you explain why not. What exactly is the issue with multiple inverters? Each should sync with the main current frequency. If consumption < generation then the electricity should flow back through the meter as normal.
