I know that I have a tendency to overload myself so I try to learn week to week what is realistic and think about those personal life elements that might change a ‘normal’ week routine.

Alexis, thank you for another great video. I am more productive if I use paper planner. I tried digital planning and it didn't work for me. Writing projects and tasks in my planner gets me motivated to work.

Oh my goodness! I definitely over plan almost every week but I still do it, because sometimes I actually get everything done and I feel like super woman lol.

Queen Mary Bella Exactly! I think it can be good motivation for you as long as you celebrate it as a win when it works and don’t think too much about it when it doesn’t!

The urgent important matrix is vital for my planning. I have to use that weekly, sometimes daily. I have anxiety and it is the one thing that always helps me organize my thought process too.

this is totally relatable! thanks for sharing your experience haha i just uploaded a flip through of my first six months of bullet journaling and it's been so much fun playing around with different layouts for productivity :) i definitely have had periods of time where i just dropped off from my to-do list or from even planning in general but it's always nice to have a place to go back to

I’ve always loved paper planning but had to admit awhile ago that digital was working better. So many of my tasks automatically repeat so there is a little less in my brain to try to remember and less over-planning happens.

I can totally understand that! For me though when tasks auto populate I tend to forget about them or glaze over them bc I haven’t taken the time to think about them in write them in myself. Does that make sense? I personally need to write things down to solidify it in my brain 🧠

Alexis aka MissTrenchcoat That makes sense to me as well. Plus, looking at a weekly spread with my major projects broken down into tasks with a single priority for each day is best for the “imprint factor”. I do put recurring tasks such as banking tasks on my google calendar as reminders. Other work-related tasks would be “glossed over” if I did not use my paper planner to set my intentions for the month/week/day. I love the hybrid planning method.

Tara Wagner I use a hybrid planning method that works best for me. A paper planner and digital calendar/task manager. It’s not duplication as some might think. It’s just that some planning is an act of intention requiring deep thought (weekly, monthly, quarterly reviews and planning) and other tasks that are repetitive on a timeline or that pop in unexpectedly are best set up on my Google calendar as reminders. I love following your comments.

Honestly, I just use frixion pens (yay erasers) and kind of have a floating post-it on my “maybe this day or week” randoms. I’m one of those people that feels failure if I see I didn’t get something done when I over plan 😂 so if I erase it and then move the to-do to the day i can get it done, it’s like the missed to-do “never happened”. Haha.

Amber Lin Great strategy that fits best with your needs. Especially your emotional needs.

I don't use stickers. I prefer my Moleskin week at a glance calendar with a page on the side for weekly tasks. I only write tasks that have to be done on that day like appointments and meetings. Kathy B.
