Written out in Bakersfield CA by Red Simpson. Buck Owens actually recorded it first. It’s on an early sixties album but Capitol never put it out as a single. Charlie Walker tweaked the title, creating everlasting confusion, and his Columbia cut is indeed considered the definitive version. Can somebody post when this Amber Digby performance was? And thanks for this post, the live performances are always my favorites.
