She too has uncontrollable feelings and emotions. She is a child and at that age anyone would be upset if their friends treated them badly, let alone their boyfriend. Mary just came home and saw that Sheldon was upset, but didn't bother to think about why Missy was upset. Its like she didn't even register that her daughter was upset. Georgie wouldn't have gone off the road (probably) if he didn't have to be so independent. Have you ever seen Mary trying to have a conversation with Missy or Georgie? Its pathetic. And yes it is absolutely her fault if her kids don't feel they can confide in her, because she is the mom. She is supposed to be there for all of them, but she is only really there for Sheldon.

I relate with missy in this episode. My parents always argue. And whenever my siblings and I fought, i feel like my parents are always on their side, especially when it comes to my sister.

Poor Missy. Her first heart break which is super real for her. A family that don't know how to communicate with each other, and don't know how to control emotions. A mother that didn't ask what was wrong. A grandma that didn't try too hard to chat. A dad that tried but noticed she just needed the time to be alone. A brother who didn't mean to make her upset, but she wasn't in the mood for him. It's sad but relatable. The kid that gets tossed aside most of the time, who gets blamed for everything. So much to Missy that people over look, and the ones that comment it are also missing it.

You know, it's literally very sad that Missy has an actual place that she goes to when she runs away. You can tell she's done this a lot. But it's never mentioned which means no one notices when she runs away. That is absolutely awful. And George is right. Mary never asks him what he wants.
