Love your humour - and clean up. I've tried using the hake - but can' get the speed to apply the paint as you do. Yes, practice practice - Your results give me hope.

I have had a difficult time dealing with the mistakes I make. Normally, I end up ripping up the painting and throwing it away before it ever dries. This has made me think about trying to save it to see if I can correct anything.
@joemenzaart
@joemenzaart 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Amy. Don’t rip them up. Use it as a time to experiment and see how far you can go and what works and what doesn’t. I have learned a lot doing that.

Hey! Just like to say I appreciate you! I’m trying to get back in the groove of painting and watercolors just seems like the perfect thing for me. I know a lot of folks think watercolors is the hardest medium to use but! They are so rela . Anyway since I’ve been watching your videos and others, I’ve painted one painting a day for a week! Sometimes more! Anyway thanks my friend.

Thank you for letting me know. It’s encouraging for me to keep doing these going forward. And it can be a challenging medium but only if one paints tight. That’s what makes the loose approach more fun.

Hi Joe, This video is so relaxed. I'm not a beginner but i still picked up some useful tips! I don't have so many doubts these days about my paintings,but this reminded me of the 'terror' of mistakes that new artists have. I prefer 'loose' paintings so stuck to pastels for a while,now after watching your demonstrations it's time to switch back to watercolour! Thanks for the insight!

Hi June, thank you for your comment. My goal in this videos is not as an "expert" but as a student myself learning as I go and I do feel that those with extensive years in painting forget what it was like in their early years of painting so hopefully the things I am doing along the way show a beginner something in a new way or even refresh something to a person who has been at it for a while. I did work with Pastels for a while before I settled on WC. Pastels are a great medium.

"The Long Walk Home" Had a great country breakfast and putting on my shoes after a stuffed belly,missy came up to me with her leash as to say "let's go walking".Her tail just a wagging, out the door we go.The trail is one mile long,two miles both ways.Streams and beautiful fall colored trees along the way.Missy always chases squirrels and rabbits she encounters.Walking quietly a mother deer came in view,her fawn lying in the soft grass.A beautiful clear crisp morning,barking so faint,"missy"come on girl,time to go home.-Lynn I love this painting,reminds me of my childhood home,so beautiful.❤👍🤗

It’s nice when people tell me that something I made up reminds them of a real life place with good memories. Maybe these ideas are just out there waiting to be carved into the paper.

What a great confidence builder. Getting started sometimes is difficult because of the fear of failure. Leisure painting should be fun not stressful and you make it so. For the final details I put a temporary mat on the painting and position it, then use a light pencil for my figures and signature to get them placed properly before painting/inking them in. Then erase the pencil marks when dry. This avoids end of painting flubs. Best Wishes, Geneo

Hi joe, this is a good tutorial and I found it very helpful Will try to keep my paintings loose and not so rigid and detailed in the future,they do seem to be improving slowly 😀 On our return from holiday to the UK from Canada last month our suitcases had a fair amount of watercolour paper in them l.o.l Thanks

@@joemenzaart That's a good point of view. But unless you are strong in your conviction to learn, floundering without help is very frustrating to the point of giving up. That is why it is so great you are showing people how and what to do. That it really isn't as bad as we may think. Great content Joe.😁😁👍
