One of my favorite channels on KZbin, definitely my favorite excavating channel. I’m a general contractor with a newer tracked skid loader and a bunch of attachments, I would like to get into doing more dirt work, but around here there are lots of people that do excavating. I was wondering, how many RPM you run your machine at ,some people run them wide open some people don’t
@tristardiggin12 күн бұрын
Hey thanks, I really appreciate that! Yeah it’s hard to get a good start with a lot of folks doing the same work too. I generally run the skid steer just shy of 3/4 throttle unless I’m working it hard and then I will run full throttle. The dozer I run at 3/4 and also the excavators at 3/4 throttle.

my man, why not put a bracket on the side of the skiddy bucket to carry the lazer receiver? from experience I can tell you, those triple countershaft maxi torque trannies are very expensive to open up. good luck with that. one reminder, a temp sensor can't read air temp. it must have oil touching it to read correctly. if you can hear the sizzle, that's not good.

thank you for a great video! its such a learning video in being a catholic and how to do the business.I am thinking of getting a small business loan for a truck and trailer for 50k then lease a new 45hp 6.5 ton mini excavator for 4 years and then renting a mulcher whenever i have land clearing jobs and just do demolition work till i can get my company going. hopefully use grants to help me out as well. what is your input??? the equipment is 98,000 but then buy it out right later but also ill be saving on maintenance cost too per year which is probably like 8k a year. leasing it for 4 years will save me money than renting? there was a huge forest fire in New Mexico that there is a lot of land clearing but also everyone so busy doing that. that people are having a hard time finding people to do demolition for concrete drive ways and small structures and single story houses.
@tristardiggin13 күн бұрын
@@westtrumpet7 Sounds like a pretty good plan as long as the work holds out. Renting/leasing isn’t a bad idea when starting out because if things don’t work out you can just end the lease or rental agreement. I’m glad you are enjoying the videos and I appreciate the support… Thanks, Sam

do you need a CDL for your tandem axle dump truck if it weighs under 25 or 26k lbs? I just bought a single axle dump truck and was told i have to have a CDL?
@Rprecision18 күн бұрын
Yes! No way around it
@BuildItFixItDIY18 күн бұрын
A tandem axle truck is going to have a GVW over 26,000 pounds. So, that would require a B CDL, unless your state has what’s called a farm use registration. A single axle dump truck, if it states on its rating tag to be 26,000 pounds or less, would not require a CDL. But, you can’t pull anything because now that’s a combination vehicle which would exceed 26,000 pounds GVW.
@tristardiggin18 күн бұрын
Yup all this stuff can get a bit confusing. If the GVW is over 26k it requires a CDL. Or if it has air brakes it requires a CDL. And like the other comment said if you plan to pull a trailer that requires a Class A CDL.

@tristardiggin16 күн бұрын
@@erictompkins7254 Eric more gravel would have definitely been a good thing to fix it. But it would have been about a 2.5 hour turn around to get the rock plus the time to get it placed and on grade. Daniel was expecting the concrete company to call any minute to get his order and send it. So basically we didn’t have enough time to get the rock potentially… Thanks

Did you leave pto engaged?
@tristardiggin17 күн бұрын
Here is the play by play on what happened. After I dumped the rock I pulled up to the street and parked it. After we got the rock in place I went back and started the truck and pulled up to the trailer and hooked up the trailer and loaded the skid steer. Just before leaving I noticed the oil and stopped a 1/2 mile down the road and checked it again and that’s where I recorded the leak. When I got home I realized it was still engaged. So, do you think that was what caused it?
