I've been doing the exercises you showed in the vid with bkxc (twice a week) and I've gotten a lot faster on the trails. You're a great teacher bro

No need to apologize for “getting carried away”. It just shows how enthusiastic you are about what you’re teaching/preaching. And makes me want to watch more of your videos. Carry on.

“Don’t allow yourself to be over-informed and under-transformed.” I’M FIRED UP!! (Side note - favorite part was you wrapping the voodoo band around your eyes 😂 perfectly timed). Awesome takeaways from this. Keep these coming!

I just found your channel from watching your Everest Roam. Then I saw this video. As an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and cyclist, I want to say, great work. I have been an athletic trainer for 28 years. Research and technology have truly advanced my profession but sometimes at the detriment of the basics. New athletic trainers want the newest and latest gadgets but end up missing out on how these gadgets were developed. The basic exercises and body movements needed in order to properly rehabilitate or train our bodies. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more of your content.

I was strength training for like 6 years and now started gravel cycling as well. I can feel a lot of benefis from having strong body on my bike especially during riding uphill and strong legs allow me to sprint fast but the factor that is limiting me right now is connected with cardiovascular health because i was not doing cardio at all in the past. Now after incorporating cardio (bike) like 2-3 months ago i feel like im less tired in general and that im able to regenerate faster between sets in the gym.

Hi, I started strength training regularly in the gym this year. 2-3 times a week with varying weights/ exercise. I still haven't found the right formula for maximum gains (particularly core work) but I have felt the effort difference on the cobbles this week to previous years. Currently I have a good squat pattern, Hip thrust/ Hamstring thrusts with varying weight between 40-55kg (squat) and 60-70kg (Thrusts). Both are growing and deadlifting (t-bar/ barbell) is getting there. Some advice on deadlifts and functional core would be helpful. I cannot wait to see the gains once I have found the right formula, although I'm debating whether to park it to once a week because my next goal is the Alps in August so weightloss maybe better. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I incorporated strength training into my cycling but I did it a different way. Basically increase CTL 3 points per week, increase KJ/week 3% per week, and hit the gym every day. I've seen good results. I'm monitoring overtraining.

thats very basic knowledge from my experience, but I liked the part about the noise and drifting from your goal because of what the others say. That was a good clue for me.

Good advice: 2 days a week, RPE 8/10 (not harder). It’s hard to “hold back” in the gym, but as you say, if you push the RPE up past 8 you will have recovery problems.

Do you have any experience of people not getting any benefits from the gym? I'm someone who naturally holds muscle and with zero gym work can bench bodyweight and squat and deadlift 1.25bw. if I do gym work I get massive Dom's. Just wondering being someone who is naturally strong not fit if that time is just better spent on bike. 7-10hrs a week on bike.
