I never practiced with a metronome and it took awhile to figure out how to play in 7/8 but I finally got it

Im 39 now, but when I was 17, I remember siting in my room for hrs. bending and wiggling the D string...for HOURS! Vibrato is very important and you can definitely tell when someone HASN'T sat in their room for hrs. doing vibrato and bends!

Oh Bro! All points are nicely valid and absorbed by me ... however the 5th point and solution to practice scales by 3rds is SWEET magic and you expanded my mind yet again! Thanks Eddie!!! You da Man :)

This is a bit tricky at first, but if you use the metronome on the off-beat (kinda like it was the high-hat instead of the BD) it feels more like you're grooving with the beat instead of following it. Great idea about improvising to the metronome. I'll be trying that today. Thanks again, man.

Man, my guitars have been seriously neglected the past 6-7 years. Never thought it would happen, but then kids...life...ya know. Now I try to sit with my electric outside unplugged while the kids play, riff around a bit. My locking mechanism is immovable at this point. My prized BC Rich has been rotting in its case for years now Can I just W D40 the fine tuning wheels and wiggle them loose with some vice grips? Or is that a bad idea?
