Mistakes & magic on the water, more like a rookie mistake!
No matter how much go fishing for brown trout in the summer, no matter how good I think I am at it sometimes, every once in a while I make a rookie mistake, and boy is it humbling!
In this video it is a warm rainy day in late June and I am fishing for trout using crankbaits. The Rapala J7 crankbait was the ticket on my previous outing so why mess with the magic formula.
The strange thing about this day was that there was very little activity when I started. The fishing was slow at best. Finding big trout in the summer is never easy, but it wasn't until I moved up stream of a campground that things turned on. On my way past the campground, I noticed all of the campers with kayaks which is more than likely the reason why the fishing was slow.
Once past the campground the fishing was so much better, at least when it comes to catching trout in the late summer. More inline with my previous outing at least. I caught some nice Browns and turned one of the biggest fish I have seen this year.
Thank you for watching!
