Good thing your lady was so helpful. If I where in the same situation with my wife she would have been helpless, and I would have been on my own to figure out the whole situation myself.

I hear you! Something lit a fire under her - not sure if it was stress or anger for being on the trail so long or what, but she went into beast mode. 😆 Would’ve been a different ball game without her.

Dude that was insane. As others have said, thank God your lady was with you. Really enjoying your content! Keep us the good work. Great white is the bomb btw!

Thanks so much Juan! Yes, Jamie is a lifesaver. She’s gotten so good at spotting over the years that she really knows the angles and adjustments to get out of hairy spots. We definitely appreciate your comments and your support of our channel. We’ll keep the videos coming!

Holy cow!!!! This kept me on the edge! The background music set the tone, too 😆. I'm glad you made it out safely 🍺. I know that feeling going through the unknown , and video definitely does not do it justice. amazing 👏🏼 👏🏼

Thanks so much for watching and glad you enjoyed it! It’s nice to have viewers who understand that the video doesn’t even show half of what it’s truly like in real life!

Holy smokes…you two are awesome! I can’t imagine being out there alone. You certainly earned that 🥩

Thanks! Yeah, it was scary because we didn’t know what was around the next corner. Glad we got out of there in one piece! It is good to travel with others but a lot of times we’re on our own for the easier overlanding trails.

Thanks! It was a little rough for a bit there but glad he didn’t have to call Matt’s Offroad Recovery (although that would have made for some entertainment too)!

Go 4Runner! Nicely done. You guys make a great team. We've found a few trails like that as well. Weird thing is, we end up going back and trying them again ha ha! New sub here from the Pacific Northwest.

Oh man, thanks for watching! I love your crawl control and lockers videos - I remember first seeing you on KZbin over a year ago! I made sure to subscribe under our channel name. It's awesome to run into another 4Runner fan!

@@xplor_adventure Oh thanks so much! I actually love channels like yours. You guys are out there doing legit stuff (Black Bear Pass, Moab, etc.) and using the 4Runner for what is was made to do. The problem solving and self-reliance that you guys demonstrated in this video is part of what I like so much about overlanding. I'm a fan!

Definitely got a new sub. My lady and I have a similar trail by our house and it almost killed us last winter in a 3rd gen 4runner. I've been wheeling for a long time but it was straight dangerous and we went out alone. Lessons learned!

Thanks for subscribing! Yes, it was a super valuable lesson to learn - it's scary when you don't know what's in front of you and you're trying to get off the trail. We spent over 8 hours on a 15 mile section of terrible road - only those who have been through it know how bad it can get and the pics never do it justice!

Great videos and great job going through Elbow Canyon. I'm from the area around Elbow Canyon and Elbow is one of two roads that takes you up and over the mountains and they have both washed out. A few weeks back, Matt Off Road Recovery had to pull a vehicle off Elbow and he had a very hard time. I still think you and the wife did a great job! Need to make a patch for Elbow Canyon to place in the cab of your 4runner.

Thanks Gary! Yeah, since we came from the top we didn't see any signs about the road being washed out. Although we've done plenty of gnarly trails, the fear of the unknown and what was around the next corner really started getting to us after awhile, but glad we made it out. For a minute (when stuck), I seriously thought we'd be calling Matt's Offroad Recovery! I'll have to go look for that video of him rescuing someone in Elbow Canyon. Great idea about the patch! Appreciate your comment.

Why do all your videos make me drink a margarita immediately?! haha! You two always producing great videos even though I pucker. Keep up the great work! Awesome stuff.

Haha! Glad you're enjoying the videos - we don't always mean to get into pucker factor situations but I guess that keeps things interesting. It's nice to know we have a few fans!

Awesome video! Great job keeping your cool and making it through. I’d rather do Black Bear 100 times than what you did there. And I said I’d never do Black Bear again haha

Thanks! Yes, Black Bear Pass had its pucker moments for sure but nothing compared to this trail.

Yes, we hope it will help others think twice. We've done lots of rock crawling over the years (in a Jeep Rubicon and Landcruiser primarily) but sometimes you get a false sense of security on the capability of the vehicle. Thankfully we made it but we could have saved ourselves a lot of grief if we had just turned around when things started to get bad, especially if the conditions ahead are totally unknown. Thanks for watching!
