No drive thru for disabled people and half the subways in Macon GA don't have ramps or wide enough ramps. You have to go in through the employee entrance only if someone able bodied can get inside the store and ask how they can get someone in a wheelchair into the subway. You can order online and when it's ready, go to the drive thru, if you only have room for one window.

I remember the last time I was ever at a Subway. The location used to be really busy at lunchtime as it was in a business office area. My first sign that something was off was it was lunchtime and completely dead. I went in, ordered my usual chicken sub with black olives and other toppings. The lady put on three olives. Three. That was it. I looked at her like, “What??” and asked if she could put on more than that. She rolled her eyes, sighed and put on three more. A total of six olives. Not whole ones, just sliced up. I looked around the dead restaurant, asked if I was on Candid Camera and she said no and that she’d have to charge me more to put on more olives. Company policy. I just looked at her, told her to keep the sandwich and she tried to charge me for it. No thanks. I left and have never been back since. Cheap food, cheap service.

Nope, same here. And I find some of the things mentioned here quite laughable. Not having a drivetrough is a mistake? Are people really that lazy that they cant walk 50 meters into a store and order their food? They complain that going inside and order normaly would not make it fast food anymore. I'd argue that ordering at a drivethrough takes roughly the same time since the workload to prepare the food is the exact same. Chances are that the drivetrough takes longer if there is only one counter compared to multiple counters inside.

This video is so US-centric. Here in Germany, Subway is thriving. That may be due to the fact that we don't have any other sandwich restaurants, but Subway here is perceived to be the healthiest fast food option. The prices are OK (footlong sub of the day for around €5,60) and new locations are opening everywhere. There's no issue with Jared Fogel because nobody knows about him here. There was also never a 5 EUR promotion, which I think is the main reason why Subway is in this predicament in the US in the first place. Of course people were going to rebel when it inevitably ended. Our Subways also offer a Kid's Pack option for children, although of course McDonald's is still king when it comes to catering to children and families. Also, how lazy are Americans exactly that getting out of the car and waiting in line for like 5 minutes is so much to ask? No wonder 2/3 of the county is overweight or obese. But Subway is "out" because it's not offering healthy enough food. Give me a break...

I'm so old I remember when the most expensive thing at Subway cost $5. Seafood & crab footlong or salad. Remember when Subway made salads? I stopped going to Subway for a few reasons. 1. No more wedge cut. 2. The way they operated their "Sub club" card. They used a rubber stamp on the card, one stamp per 6 inch (two per footlong), and then when I had enough for a free sandwich they refused to honor it because the stamps were impossible to read. It's your stamp! 3. Price for product. They skimped on all the toppings, _e.g._ only four slices of tomato on a footlong sub. When I asked for more they all but refused. 4. Poor customer service. I knew exactly what I wanted. Me: "Footlong meatball on whole wheat." Sandwich maker: "What bread?" Me: whole wheat." Sandwich maker: "six inch or footlong?" Me: "Footlong." Sandwich maker: "What kind of sandwich?" Me: "Meatball." I literally just told them all of this! Not the only example, but the one that sticks in my mind having happened on multiple occasions.

I liked the Subway near my work, they opened early and stayed open very late so no matter what time I was at work or how late I worked, I knew I could always just run across the street and get a Subway sandwich. The people in the shop were also very nice, they didn't play music real loud, they didn't chatter away with each other, they actually listened to what the customer had to shout to them over that protective glass so you didn't have to keep repeating your order. Since I retired, the Subways I have access to don't provide as good a service. They both blast their music so loud you always want to turn right around the walk away. The preparers can't hear you over the music and you can't hear them either and end up screaming your order--and most of the time they get your order wrong anyway. At the one closest to me now, the servers are so busy chattering to each other in Spanish, and there seem to be a lot of them back there behind the counter with most of them doing nothing but standing around, and every single time I've gone in they can't get a simple order correct, once they even didn't include the second sandwich but they charged me for it. I really don't need this type of lousy service since there's a taqueria, a Panda Express, a by the slice pizza place and a salad place right next door. I find almost all the quick food places, not just Subway, that blast music are truly lousy places--can't get orders right, lie by saying they gave you your order when they haven't because their little brain cells aren't functioning,

I don't think this reviewer ever went to Subway. I used to go and ask say for onion or bell pepper. The employee would take 1 ring of onion or bell pepper and break it and make it straight and lay it on the meat. They REFUSED to give extra veggies unless you paid 50 cents for one more piece of veggie. Even now the sandwiches are not as big as the pictures. Truth in advertising laws needs to crack down on subway.

I don't have a problem with subways food but there was no supervision for their franchises. People thought that they could put as little meat on the sandwitches as possible so the stores where I live in new york closed. The company has guidelines on how to make the sandwiches but the people who bought in don't understand what a franchise is.

I don't care, I'm a Subway loyalist, LOL. Have literally been eating there since I was a kid in 1991. Their meatball subs are my all-time favorite chain sub, the spicy Italian a close second. I guess a bit of nostalgia, like nice memories from the '90s, are attached to my support but it is what it is. Will probably be eating there until the end of their chain, if it comes at any point. I also like the subs from the corner store type places and some grocery stores, but Subway is still big in my book.

I quit buying subway quite a while ago, but first and foremost because I went on a diet. It turns out that eating a small loaf of Italian bread for dinner, no matter how many vegetables you cram into it, isn't going to be terribly healthy for you. Since they sell footlongs, mostly, the calories don't work out if you eat 2 footlongs a day. They usually average around 1200 calories each, give or take depending on toppings and dressings. A lot of people don't realize that, to shed all that weight, Fogel only had a single foot-long sub per day for lunch and dinner. I don't recall if he ate breakfast there too, but he controlled his portions. Subway just made it easy for him to do that - it's why anyone trying to diet needs to come up with their own plan, preferably after talking with their doctor or a nutritionist. And at the same time, I ate a lot of subway when I had no time before work back in the day. It did get pretty stale... but hey if they bring back the Mediterranean flatbreads, I might just come back to grab one. Because those were pretty good.

When I was a kid my family lived in a small town, the only place to eat your house was the subway. All the teenagers either hung out at subway, or worked at subway. We would go there when my mom didn’t feel like cooking sometimes and my teenage sister would get all worked up at the possibility of someone seeing her there with her family but this town had less than 2,000 people.

I go to subway M-F for lunch, the reason being that the location I go to cares about the customer experience and goes out of their way to make me feel valued, I actually don't like the drive thur, the ones I've gone though they made mistakes and I've gotten something I didn't want fully. Their biggest knock is that they added too many locations causing an overlap. I don't actually agree with the stale menu, I've seen them try to freshen up the menu, lately the location I go added new spices, sauces, new drinks, and it's a major upgrade. They also added smoked meats which was really good.

Of course most employees at the time won't risk their jobs telling "well, of course it fits now, cuz they changed the bread dough"

It would take too long to say all the negative things about Subway but I'll try to summarize. First off, I'm from just outside Philly, so our expectations are much higher than most of the country when it comes to hoagies. Subway bread is disgusting. Removing the yoga mat ingredients didn't help. It's wreaks with an odor that is unexplainable the second you enter their store. It's not fresh either as it is made with frozen dough. Nothing beats a Philly Italian hoagie roll. Subway's meats & cheeses are not fresh sliced but delivered pre-cut. They're also very low quality. Their tuna? The absolute worst I've ever had. I'm not sure if it's even 100% tuna as it has a totally weird taste unlike any tuna I've had. Speaking of not 100%. Remember, Subway's oven roasted chicken registered at just 53.6 percent chicken? Owners of Subway have complained that they are not permitted to buy veggies locally & must buy them from Subway & most stores only have deliveries once a week. I've read where owners have complained about the freshness & lettuce, for example already turning brown or wilted. If you want a real hoagie come to the Delaware Valley & watch as the meats & cheeses are fresh sliced upon ordering and no dreaded shredded lettuce prepacked in bags is used. Pepperoni is good on a pizza but you won't find it on a hoagie just like you won't find Prosciutto at Subway but you can get it with an Italian hoagie here.
