Please note that the only industrial zone that should be placed next to residential zones is one that is a specialty farming zone.

That's great! Providing footpaths and bike paths significantly improves traffic flow.

This is a good list, but I do think that tip number one and tip number six might seem contradictory to new players. There's certainly an argument to be made that you don't need to place a service building down the moment you unlock it for the upkeep cost reasons mentioned. However, not placing, let's say a police station, until your city is screaming at you for one can be counterproductive, because what you're saving in upkeep costs on that building, you're losing in tax income because the crime rate is so high. On the other side of that coin, the positive area of effect that a service building will have around it means buildings level up and your tax income increases which means the sooner you can place a service building, the sooner it can start paying for itself and providing benefits. All told, the best balance is to place a service building in an area where it can have the greatest effect on the surrounding zoning *as soon as it is financially viable to do so.*

I see your point and i agree there could be an argument. But tip no. 1 should be considered but not to the point where citizens are going to leave. Of course you have to watch out if the population is continuously going down because of high crime rate. You can even delete the house if the crime is on 3 or 4 houses only. Like what you said, level up when financially viable. Certainly when the first services are unlocked, mostly are not yet financially viable.

I mean, you should always be able to place some basic service buildings, you can also place the university right when you unlock it and if you own the Campus dlc you can even place it somewhere random

You're somewhat correct. Early in game as things like police stations become available they cannot level up houses alone because the cims aren't educated yet. You're argument would apply in the mid to late game as high density versions of service buildings become available, but not in the early game.

When I play (console)the time I can buy the second tile, I remove my industry and make it I think to far from the city and to big (boring just square) do you consider more industry but smaller sections ?

The problem will be the traffic. I usually move the industry near the highway, away from residential. Then provide truck roads and public transport for workers.

Is it worth increasing the road budget back to 100% ever on a normal map (not snow)?

The promised benefit is increased speed on roads if you have the road maintenance building. The benefit is very little compare to the expense. Leave it at 50%. Invest on good intersections and proper road network instead.

Well as for me, you already know I play unlimited, so the budgeting stuff doesn’t pertain to me that much (I do try and see if I can come out of the negative in infinite mode lol), but the cosmetic stuff do For one the walkable thing is about to get very interesting within the coming days or weeks lol, I try to lvl up my buildings to get certain ones, and lastly the only time I build residential next to industrial is when I’m trying to create some type of dilapidated neighborhood😆

I prefer creative playing too. Although I still have my trophy enabled cities for the sake of it. Yeah, we're all excited for that new DLC. I think it will keep us busy. Wondering what new ideas from console players will come up with the new DLC and patch update.
